Surprise flier and amazing day!

I have done a bit more to the jigsaw, but a photo tomorrow. We both went out into the garden, I had plants to make way for and Tina started clearing an overgrown area at the bottom of the garden. The garden bins, both full, were going to be emptied today, so we could make a start on the stuff waiting to go into them!

After a while we had a tea break in the garden and the postman arrived while we were enjoying the sunny weather. He had a flier as well as the post.

We decided to take a ride to Bennybeg but I collected the empty bins and we both got the stuff waiting into the bins. The plant centre is twenty miles or so away and it was a great journey, the hills hadn’t got the trees on so quite different. We went through one area which took our breath away but we were surrounded by these enormous hill but not easy to get the idea from the car. Managed slightly better on the way back.

The plant centre was great and we spent a lot but got our free bedding plants!
After we had looked round and bought our purchases at a garden centre with a cafe. We didn’t look round the garden centre but went into the glass making place and admired the beautiful stuff then went in to where the men were making glass items.

That was fascinating. Then on the way home, lots more photos!

A while after that we saw a sign to Rumbling Bridge, so we went to the car park and walked down to the river.

The last two were taken from the bridge, very narrow and a little alarming when a car appeared!

Then we did make our way home. We would never had found these places if the postman hadn’t delivered the flier! Quite a day.

  1. It’s good when there’s two of you in the garden, it just seems easier and you definitely get more done. You also get someone to talk to on a tea break. The garden looks lovely in the pic with you sitting.
How fortuitous to get that leaflet. A nice little trip out and some beautiful scenery again. You’re so spoiled for it up there. Those hills do look enormous and I can well imagine it being an experience driving between them.
They seem to like painting old bikes up there the same as the did in Hornsea! Free plants made the trip worthwhile, although it’s sound like you spent more than enough to cover them 😊
I really like going to glass blowing places, I’ve been to a couple. It’s fascinating watching them as they make it look so easy. As long as they remember to blow and not suck πŸ˜‚
Definitely a night for lots of great pics. I particularly like the one after the pic of Tina looking direct on to the camera. With the river running through the middle.
Well that turned out to be a really good day. I hope you’ll thank the postman next time you see him 😊

  2. It was a unexpected day really but we really liked the look of Creiff town, we drove through ion the way to the garden centre and it would be good to have a day there and a good look round. It was very hilly but a big shopping area and some great at statues. It was a lovely drive although at one or two spots there was sheer drop with the rod edge a little too near for comfort!
The garden is getting there, still a way to go, that photo just shows the bits that had been worked non!
