Highlights and lowlights

This morning quite early was a highlight. There was a red squirrel in the garden, it jumped on the windowsill briefly and then went across to the flower bed I have been preparing and started digging. Tina’s photo was better than mine as she was at a different angle and didn’t get the window glare.

Squirrel and evidence of digging!

The weather was good and my legs were less painful so I got into the garden for an hour or so. I cut the two daffodils and the cleared about eighteen inches, so little be little.
I have had a couple of short sessions on the jigsaw, that is proving to be challenging, so little by little there too.
This afternoon I decided to practice the pen shading, as I had wondered yesterday if it would work using coloured fine liner pens. The Secret Garden film was on to watch while I practiced. So that was enjoyable.
Tina suggested we got the water feature unpacked, it is near the bird feeder for now but we may change that. Sadly my knees both started to ache again which was definitely a lowlight.
Taking it easy this evening with the feet up.

  1. You’re so lucky to have the red squirrels in your garden like that. They really are beautiful things. It’s such a shame they got wiped out down here by the grey variety ☹️
Little by little is definitely the right attitude with the garden. No point in rushing and any suffering for the privilege. You’ll get there eventually.
Oh my, I thought the puzzle would be further on than that. I was assuming it was a lot easier than the last one, but obviously not. It’ll still be there when Darren arrives, so he’ll be pleased ๐Ÿ˜Š
That sketch is really really good! It definitely works with the colours. The shading makes such a difference. I look forward to seeing mor using that technique.
Shame your knees have started to act up again. Damn water features ๐Ÿ˜Š I hope they feel better before bedtime. You could do without them keeping you awake.

  2. We are indeed lucky to be in a red squirrel area, we have only had a couple of glimpses of them but we haven’t been here long yet.
The jigsaw is definitely a challenge, but there is no rush.
I was quite pleased with the sketch with the coloured pens, I will have another practice with a different subject.
I didn’t do ant of the real lifting with the water feature, just a coincidence that the legs started while I was helping.
