Changeable weather

Yesterday evening it had rained and sometimes sleeted heavily and the wind was getting up. This morning  it was blue sky and sunshine and the wind had calmed down. While Tina was at church I went to the are centre to have a chai latte. I sat by a window in the sun and took a picture of the view. Some nice buildings in the village.

Some daffodils hd been left by Tina’s office door yesterday so I decided to try drawing some with a bit more detail. I don’t do much pencil drawing these days.
After lunch the rain came back with a vengeance and it turned it sleet briefly. When it had cleared Tina asked if I felt like a walk by the river, I said oky but it will be muddy, and it was! There are some new signs as yu approach the Birnam Oak now, the first one said something like It is not me, I am  sycamore, I took a picture of the second one.
The sun on the water at this little bridge was lovely.
The path turned into a mini river at some points.
When we got to the Dunkeld bridge we carried on along the path so that Tina could see where I had sat opposite the cathedral on my walk back from the Hermitage the other day. He sun was shining so you could see it better today.
We walked back to the bridge through the community orchard.
We were just on the bridge in time to see this wonderful sight.
After a drink and piece of cake we timed it right again and I caught it again on the way back, but a bit closer.
Forgot to add a photo of me in front of the bridge.
I have done a bit to the jigsaw, the picture is almost half sky so it may take a while! Tina took a photo of Pandora trying out the basket in the sunshine!
That’s it for today.

  1. We had some nice sunshine this morning too. I have to agree you do have some lovely buildings there. Those in the pic have so much more character than the majority down here.
I think you’ve done a grand job of the daffs. There’s a lot of detail in them. I think pencil or pen drawings are so much better than a lot of others as it amazing how the shading brings out the shapes. Carrying a pencil or a pen and a sketchbook doesn’t take up much room. It also helps when you have the talent too 😊
A muddy walk is ok if you don’t slip over in it. It makes a bit of a mess! I like the signs, very dry. It was lovely sunlight for all your pics. I like the river running down the path. Looks like welly weather. The pic under that of the water in the foreground and the trees beyond it is really nice. It’s all lovely scenery. You’ll be able to nip down there in the summer, paint a picture and collect community fruit on the way home 😊 The coach and horses isn’t a sight you see often, never down here. I bet you can book a trip on it, that’d be fun.
Good luck with the jigsaw, it looks a nightmare!
Pandora definitely looks happy sitting in the sun. Oh to be a cat.

  2. The daffs are quite tricky, especially to get the depth. I used to like doing quite detailed drawings for a change. It was muddy along the path but I didn’t slip so that was good!
That carriage with three horse was quite a sight, the inside and the roof were packed with people!
The jigsaw is going to be a challenge, I thought getting the sky done would be good, but we will see.
