A happy Mother’s Day

It has been a lovely day. This morning I went to the boot sale with Darren, nothing caught my eye but Darren got a nice pot for Tina. We weren’t there long but we drove back via the se front and had a hot chocolate there.
The hundred daffodils have started opening already, I sat in the room and did a crossword and then red for a while, stopping to have a chat with Anya.
I took a walk round the garden and checked the trays in the greenhouse. Took a picture of one bed as it is getting very colourful.
Tina and Darren got me a Peter Rabbit scrap book, but it has lovely paper in so I will use it for pencil or pen sketches. I had  some roses which are nearing their end but sketched them.
We had the Cornish cream tea at lunch time as Tina was cooking dinner later.
It was delicious! After lunch
Darren spent some time with me working on the latest jigsaw. I had been struggling with the green area, it is probably about a half done now or maybe a bit more.
I read some more of my book and then went down for dinner, table set and ready and a lovely meal to follow.
After tea went for a drive to Mappleton with Tina. More cliff seems to disappear every time we go. It wa chilly but lovely.
To round the day off we watch ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, one of my favourite films. So a very happy Mother’s Day.

  1. It definitely sounds like you had a great Mother’s Day. Some lovely gifts, and a meal cooked for you. What more could you ask? 🙂
You have some really nice pics on here too. I think the one of the daffodils is lovely. The lighting makes it stand out. Also the ones at Mappleton and the sunset. Definitely spoiled for choice today. I also think the sketch is great. Now you have another book to fill you’ll be doing a few more 😊
I can see why Darren’s help was appreciated with the jigsaw. I can imagine the green was a nightmare. You’ve had some pleasure, if that’s the right word, from all the jigsaws lately.
The cream teas do look good! Do you get all that in the box? Lovely!
As you say, a very happy Mother’s Day.

  2. The cream tea items were ll in the box, plus 4teabags and two little packs of biscuits.
It was a really relaxing day rounded off by watching a film together.
Mapppleton is always good to visit, we were wondering if the farmers get compensation for the disappearing fields.
The daffs are lovely, have never had so many.
