Yorkshire Wild Life Park

Sorry to miss doing the blog yesterday, I went to stay overnight at the Yorkshire Wild Life Park and I foolishly forgot my iPad! The first thing you spotted when you arrived was the large big wheel.
Great benches in the reception area.
The view from our room looked over the park.

We had a wander round before settling down for the evening.
It was dusk when I tried to sketch a tree from our room.
This morning I spotted this maned wolf from the window.
Another one of the wheel with the sun behind. We didn’t see much sun for the rest of the visit.
Now lots of photos with a comment now and again!

These fluffy meerkats were taken through a window!
We met a friendly not so wild cat!
The wallaby hopping away in the next picture had a joey, you can just about see his head!
I had lots of attempts at catching the giant otters playing in the water! Mostly of the water!
I did take a few photos in the dinosaur area but will post those tomorrow. Last photo today of the quick sketch.
It was very cold and Tina really wasn’t feeling too well so after four hours and over 17.000 steps we came straight home. It is a gret place.

  1. Missing a night isn’t the end of the world, and it’s good you got away. A quick scan through the pics shows it was a good trip, even though the weather wasn’t the best. It’s good to get away though and forgetting the iPad isn’t really a bad thing 😊
Looks a nice place to stop, and I love the benches in the reception! Simple but very effective. Not a bad view from your room. It’d do for me.
Great tree for the sketch. It’s nice to have different locations occasionally to sketch from.
Was the big wheel in operation, and did you fancy a trip on it?
Way too many pics to comment on, but great to see. I imagine you spent a bit of time with the otters as you’ve always had a thing for them 🙂
All in all it looks a great place, and maybe one to revisit in the better weather?
Sorry to hear Tina wasn’t feeling too well. I hope she soon recovers.
Think you got enough steps in for one day though 😊

  2. I did fancy going on the big wheel, maybe next time.
There was a lot of walking and very big enclosures, so not many animals were close to where you were. You could walk among the wallabies which was nice. We didn’t see all the animals, I think some were keeping out of the cold wind, very sensible!
I would like to go again, maybe even take the camera!
