Goodbye Wavy Dave

Today has been a bit bitty, the usual shopping and getting some washing done this morning. The grocery order also came today, we usually get it on Friday evening.
Tina has been visiting family but was home it time to get to the church for David’s memorial service. He was a local character who used to wave to everyone whether they were pedestrians or in passing cars. He used to sit on benches in the town and talk to anyone passing. He sadly died a few weeks ago and it was a way for locals to say goodbye. There wa a collection and we hope that a bench can be made in his memory. There was a buffet meal after the very lovely service which was a chance for people to chat.
This afternoon I did do a sketch in the garden, it was cold and dull but the rain didn’t really materialise.
I am going to a concert in the church with Tina this evening, a friend of Rosie’s is plying guitar.

  1. A bitty day is sometimes good, specially if the weather isn’t up to much. I don’t know about your way but it’s been quite miserable and wet here.
It’s alway sad when a local character passes away, but it does sound like he was given a good send off. I hope the bench come to fruition. Another one you can rest on when out on your walks 🙂
You’ve done a great job on the marrows. Definitely not an easy task after seeing the original pictures.
    Enjoy your concert.

  2. Off soon to the concert, so will mention that tomorrow.
I stood by the marrows as I thought if I tried to move them they would completely crumble. Still can’t imagine how long it has taken for them to be so fragile now,
