I had a wander round, looked at some sales but resisted and kept to my economy drive! I went into the Ferens art gallery and did a sketch there!
Took one photo of a very unusual exhibit.
I love the bike stands in Hull.
I did end up buying a sale item, reduced by 75% so a whole £3.50.
So I will add one of the words and the definition.
Tussicate: This verb meaning ‘to cough’ which popped up in the late 1500s - comes from the Latin tussicus (“stricken with a cough”)
Tina gave my some daffodils in bud yesterday evening and today a couple have opened.
A television evening with some programs I enjoy.
You don’t need a reason to go to Hull. It’s one of your favourite places. I do understand why as they have unusual things, like the bike racks. Never seen those anywhere else. They have lots of unusual art all around the place. You did very well not to buy lots of things in the sales. I do like the book though. I remember when you had a similar one before. I will look forward to the different words and meanings appearing on here each night. I’ve been tussicating for the past couple of days. I’d like to think I’ll remember the word, but I struggle to remember my own name some days 😊
ReplyDeleteI foresee a daffodil sketch appearing soon 😀
Hope you have a nice tv evening without too many interruptions by cats etc.
I think a daffodil sketch is on the cards.
ReplyDeleteI do like Hull, it you to get underserved bad press but not so much now.
The nerd calendar was a bargain, they had only reduced them today!
