I had ordered some more cake boards so couldn’t carry on with the marzipan, so got the hoover out and did a few chores. Then the package arrived so got back to the cakes. I had made an large square one to cut into three smaller cakes, rather that fiddle making tiny one. Putting the marzipan on them was fun!
Had to rearrange the kitchen a bit, as storing the cakes once they are in containers is always a problem.
Had a couple of photos from Tina, one taken about 10.30 am and then another a bit later.
This evening I went to a Sgraffito workshop. We made the little bowls and glazed them and then scraped away a design. When they are glazed they will have a Matt finish so as not to detract from the design. It will shrink quite a bit too.
I did tidy up those edges a bit once it was turned out. It will be a couple of weeks before we get them back.
Visito day tomorrow, but hopefully I will keep to my plan and at least do one thing that is constructive!
I’m pleased your soup turned out well. Like you I’ve made soup before and not really enjoyed it, so it’s really nice when you actually want more 😊
ReplyDeleteI bet your kitchen smelled really good today with all those cakes and marzipan. I’d have been nibbling as I was doing it 😊The three from one cake is a better idea than cooking separate ones, and they look good too. The way they are all stacked up in those boxes worries me. I hate to think of the mess if they got knocked over 😳☹️

I was up at six, so another early start and this evening I am now fighting to stay awake so will be retiring very soon.

Quite enjoyed the new technique this evening the instructor was very good.
