I went to visit Sarah and David for a while this morning then after lunch I went out to feed the birds and did a bit of clearing in the garden. It is very muddy everywhere so not a great clearance but slowly getting some bits done.
The rhubarb and courgette plants nearer the back were slimy and revolting!
Not been a great year for autumn colour but the trees looked pretty before the rain started.
I had planted a butternut squash plant which didn do very well, but there were a couple of fruits on the bed today.
I started gathering the cake containers and checking numbers and cake boards. Sadly lacking so went to Boyes to get supplies. A couple of the boards I bought are too big for the containers so have ordered some smaller ones. Then I washed the containers as the get dusty and sometimes smell a bit plasticky when they have been sat on the side for months.
Maybe I will be organised enough to make a start on the marzipan marathon tomorrow!
Feeling weary now, but hopefully awake enough to watch Shetland. Can always fall back on catch up if I doze off!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to get to the front and have a fab sunrise today, always nice to see but more interesting if there are clouds.
A while ago I thought I wouldn’t be able to get any jobs done in the garden, so managing to do a bit at the moment is a bonus.
I have some carrots that need using, so maybe butternut squash and carrot soup.
