Today I haven't actually gone out and about, except for going down to the post box and shop first thing. Having received presents of gardening gloves and secateurs I thought it was time I tried them out and did a bit in the front garden. I went to the cupboard in the back garden and got some tools out and the hand lawn mower. Charlie wasn't too impressed that I had to move the kennel to get into the cupboard as he was comfortably resting in there. The garden isn't really awful, but the dandelion lawn definitely needed cutting and it was just looking generally unloved!
I spent a bit over an hour, I naturally dig using my left foot, so when I was tidying the beds I had to resist that urge! The postman and a delivery arrived while I was out there which saved me going up and down the stairs, always an upside.
I have some more to do out there, but it looks a little more loved now. The delivery was flowers for me. They are lovely and are from my friend Rachel and her family, a very nice late birthday surprise.
Another present I hadn't put on the blog before was a great drawing of 'Sherlock'. That will be getting framed and up on the wall once we are moved and settled.
The race was going by the end of the road but I haven't felt like going out today so have stayed in. Did a couple of chores and rested my legs. Did make a start on the new jigsaw.

    1. As it is quite a pretty garden now it frustrates me when it gets too overgrown. But will be able to stay on top of it now. The back I am afraid will have to fend for itself as there is too much climbing about involved! xxx

  2. The garden does look good. I like to see, and to sit in a nice garden, but only as long as someone else looks after it. Not my forte at all.
I watched the cycle race on the tv and saw it pass by the end of your road. Did look out for you. Nasty pile up at the end of the race :-(
Lovely flowers, and a great picture of Sherlock.

  3. Oh,could have been on the telly! Never mind, just didn't feel like turning out this afternoon. I saw the repeat of the finish and that could have been a lot worse, such a shame.

  4. Garden looks great well done you: - your resilience and determination to not let the bad stuff win is commendable - - love the Sherlock picture where did you get him? I think Olivia might get one for her new digs .
I watched the race on tv saw it go thru Driffield and past my mums didn't see her tho but I recorded it so will do a bit of spotting the family / friend later- I did look for you on your area bit and rewound but couldn't spit you now I know why - the ending was horrific hop no one too seriously injured but it looked like carnage bless them and they not in protective gear as such are they:(
