This morning I got myself ready, case packed, and tidied up a bit so that I would come home to a reasonable sight. Darren drove me to the station and we had a drink while he waited to help me onto the train. Quite busy on the train but quite a good journey and Anya and Isobel were waiting on the platform to meet me. I went without the boot and in the new shoes and have managed quite well, albeit on the slow side. Had the boot and a walking stick in my rucksack in case it turned out to be a bad idea. We walk into the city and I took this photo while Isobel and I waited to see if Anya could spot a good place to have lunch.
After lunch we had a bit of time before we could go into the cottage, There was a girl playing guitar and singing and she had the most beautiful voice, her name is Rachel Croft and Anya bought a cd of her for me.
Then we set off to find the cottage, we liked the road sign as we got to the road.
Anya and Isobel at the entrance.
The cottage is indeed very close to the city wall, the view from the living room.
A lovely living area and a nice little backyard as well.
Isobel and I were about to have a game and I think this is a lovely picture of her.
I had a nice bath and then the plug wouldn't come out, there is a man here trying to fix it as i write!! Can't take me anywhere. Anya and Isobel did take a walk, went on the wall and to a play park while I relaxed. Watching a film this evening. Will finish with a selfie that Isobel took.
Sounds like the day went very well. Glad to hear the shoes were OK and you didn't have to resort to the boot or stick. Fingers crossed for the rest of your trip. The cottage looks really nice. You should be quite comfortable there assuming you don't totally destroy the place. Don't think I know anyone who's managed to get the plug stuck in the bath :-)
ReplyDeleteSome nice pics of Isobel. I think she looks lovely in the pre game one, and I also like the selfie :-)
Have a great time, but take it easy......and try not to break anything else!
I will try not to, baths are off the agenda now. I am sure we will have a lovely time and I think the forecast is dry for the week.
