I had bought mince yesterday to get some cooking done for the freezer, Darren and Tina enjoy them and they are handy on busy days. I made a cottage pie, lasagne, both of which made four separate portions and a pasta bake for this evening.

Once that was all done and packed away it was lunch time. As Tina has not been well we made up a flask and drove up to the car park at the far end of the south bay. Very quiet and a lovely view. This photo just makes the seagull look bigger than the castle, which amused me!
The terns were on this cliff, we didn't see a herring gull while we were there, did see magpies and crows though.
We took a short walk up to a higher level, great view.
This bush would have looked stunning if the sun had decided to shine.
We thought making this felled tree into a couple of rustic benches was a novel idea.
Ship ahoy on this one if you look closely.
After sitting there for a while Tina drove up to Oliver's Mount. It is so high that from there you can see three bays!
And a great view of the town.
One of the obelisk, which is a local landmark.
We had a cup of tea there and then came home. Will probably do some varnishing and crochet now.

  1. The cooking looks really good. Wish you still lived around the corner from me :-)
Nice little trip out and good views for pictures. Shame it wasn't a bit brighter. I like Oliver's Mount, the view is brilliant. Need to take several pictures up there and make a panorama of it all.

    1. A panoramic picture would be good, you can certainly see a long way. I was surprised how long I was in the kitchen but everything appeared to turn out well.
