I didn't rush to get up this morning and when I did surface spent a couple of hours finishing off the crochet lap blanket. I have used it today and it is nice and warm.
I was quite pleased with the edging which I just made up to finish it off.
You may remember a few weeks back I had a disaster whilst repotting the begonias. Haven't moved the dead one as you never know. That is in the front and the other one the other end of the shelf.
Looking closely today I noticed that the 'dead' one has a new shoot!
After we had dinner Tina took me out for a little ride round as I was in a bit of pain today and didn't fancy a walk. We went in country to a forest area and admired the autumn colours, the we stopped in Hackness to have a look at the church. The road there had an open water channel, like a gully, but I am sure it has a proper name.
Attractive little church that is kept open during the day which was a bonus.
There was this fairly modern stained glass window.
And some more traditional ones.
The font cover was fantastic, old and beautiful workmanship, the font itself was lovely to with relief carvings on it.
It is chilly today, haven't done much since we got back, watched something on catch up and used my newly finished lap blanket! Strictly results tonight, who will it be?
The blanket looks nice, and bigger than I expected. No wonder it took a while to finish, it's a long way around that! Bet it keeps your legs watm though.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed the begonia has the new shoot. Good job you didn't throw it out. Can you cut off the old growth just the other side of the new shoot?
A nice little trip out today. Lovely church. I've seen a font similar to that one somewhere before. No idea where though. I think churches, and specially stained glass windows, lend themselves perfectly for photos. Very good subject matter.
Yes, it was a good little trip and a very nice church. A lady came over from a house nearby to lock up as we were about to leave. Can't decide whether to cut the old bits of the plant of or to let then die completely before I do anything to it.
ReplyDeleteMeant to say the gully in the road reminded me of your time in Ghana and you nearly disappearing down one :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, not my finest moment there! Tina looked it up and it is actually called a rill.
