Trip to Hull

A few young bird pics today. The first one arrived early, a young dunnock.
I went to the shop to get some lunch and we had it early as Tina needed to leave by midday to get to a meeting in Hull. I went along and said I would probably catch the bus home. My main reason for wanting to go was to get a thin cover for my phone, but I really wanted to get to the funky pedestrian bridge. I got up the first ramp, but not actually onto the bridge. The plants along the side are getting established now.
I went from there into Princes Quay and got a great pair of trousers for a fiver in the vintage shop!
As I walked into the city centre it looked like rain was on the way.
Tina had asked me to see if I could find a small stainless steel bowl, so after I had bought my phone case I went to three different stores. Eventually found something suitable in TK MAXX but the queue for checkout was long and I ended up having eight minutes to get to the bus otherwise it was another hour and a half or so to wait! The other passengers were boarding when I got to the bay! I also bought a new bird feeder along with the bowls and it has a ceramic top and base. I have mealworm’s in it now,
I sat in the walled garden with Tina, she spotted an unusual bug, not quite in focus as I couldn’t see what I was taking, but will post it anyway as it was pretty.
More bees and a bug.
A young chaffinch and robin next.
Will finish with a couple of pictures of Liverpool, thanks to Mike.

Just another Sunday

It was still damp this morning and trying to rain, I fed the birds early and really must get a shelter made over the storage dustbins so that the seed isn’t getting wet. A job for another day, I did mention it to Jayne’s partner so maybe he will come up with something, I cut some rhubarb as well to give to Jean and Terry, I went to Lily’s with Darren and we had breakfast, putting the cleaned bench into the car before we left. Then free eting we went to Jeans to deliver the bench, the rhubarb and a message from Tina! I did take one photo of the sea, quite a miserable day.
As it has been wet some toadstools have suddenly appeared on the lawn!
I had put antirrhinums in the planters nd in one of them they are flowering beautifully.
I bought some mocha sachets yesterday and some oat mile the other day, so thought I would make a drink and see if it turned out like the ones I have in Bemora. I wasn’t quite a creamy but pretty nice.
This afternoon I decided the banister needed cleaning as it was getting greasy. It was really bad, good job I found some grease removing wipes, I needed quite a few! I did wipe the struts as well and after a rest did polish the banister as well.
I had the Bird Buddy on charge and when the rain eased off I put it back in the cage. Wandered round the garden then,  photo of one of the tiny alliums that are so lovely, and a couple of the bees on the sea holly.
Three bird pictures to finish,  baby chaffinch, a sparrow, and a not so sharp, but incredibly cute on of a robin!

Damp carnival day

Last night I tried to take a picture of a fair ride in the park, through my bedroom window. Just turned out as an arty shot!
I went to the shop before the shopping was delivered and then out to visit Sarah and David after the delivery. Sarah had been poorly and I know they would want to know how the appointment went yesterday. After that I did walk down to the park and found the Hornsea Collective marquee. Very damp day but a few people milling about,
A robing visited the Bird Buddy before I was up, a few more later.
The carnival parade did go ahead, I took photos from the spare room, so had charged the camera.
I did get some washing done today and cleaned up a lovely indoor bench we had as Jean fell in love with it so we are giving it to her.
We won’t go to the boot sale tomorrow as heavy rain is forecast, but will go to Lily’s for breakfast and then drop the bench off a Jeans.
A few more bird pics, nice to see the sparrow today.
