Beatrix Potter is exhibition

Pandora is obviously a bit more settled as she had settled on the chair a couple of times rather than under the bed! Another wet day so I decided to go to the art centre and get the form for changing the address on my driving license on the way back. I had a drink before looking round the exhibition as it opens a bit later than the cafe. They are having trouble with the lighting so let me walk around within out paying. It is only £4 anyway and I bought a few things in the shop after I had looked round. It is delightful, lots of interesting exhibits and details bout her life, but also several activity areas for children, dressing up, a shop and a school c’est with activities. I will just add the photos now.

I booked a place on a craft session before leaving.
I called in at the post office and he said they didn’t have forms so to apply on line for the update driving license! One misty picture today.
I decided to walk to Dunkeld and get a bottle I found refilled with washing up liquid, had a drink there.. as well. It was raining fairly hard on the way back and there were some mad people swimming in the river with outer clothing on!

I stopped by another burn to take a photo.

I bought a plain notebook at the shop and did put pencil to paper, I haven’t got any drawing pens here at the moment, may not be able to find them when they are here!
The vans are loaded in Hornsea and they will be travelling up tomorrow as Tina will be. She will stay with  Darren tonight as the house is now empty! Hen Thursday chaos will arrive here!

  1. Quite a busy day again. I know how you like Beatrix Potter, and judging by the pics the little exhibition was good. Is it a permanent exhibition or will it change at a later date? £4 sounds like a fair price and I bet you made sure you spent at least that in the shop ๐Ÿ™‚
Your first booked craft session in Scotland. I’m sure it’ll be the first of many.
Everything is having to be done online these days. It’s all wrong. I rang my doctors surgery the other day to book an appointment and was told by the receptionist that I had to do it online. I fibbed a little and said I didn’t do apps or online forms, so did that mean I could never see a doctor again. She booked me an appointment ๐Ÿ˜‚
I wonder if the loony river people are related to the loony surfers of Scarborough? They’re everywhere!
I’m really pleased you started some drawing. A good subject for the first one. I look forward to seeing many more when you get all your art stuff sorted out. Hopefully some pen line drawings too ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope tomorrow turns out to be a reasonably peaceful day as Thursday definitely won’t be! It’ll all be worth it in the end….just keep telling yourself that! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I have managed to fill the days one way or another, I soon won’t be doing anything but unpacking boxes for a while soon!
The exhibition is a permanent one as Beatrix Potter spent her childhood summers here, and there is the Beatrix Potter garden which is due to be refreshed. I am looking forward to doing a craft session here and hope there will be plenty more,
I could work out why the people were jumping into the water with what appeared to be high visibility clothing and then swimming with all that clobber on!
Hopefully will get to do a bit more drawing again after we get some order in the house!
