Birnam Oak and trying to create order!

While Tina was in church I walked with Darren to see the Birnam Oak,  it was a beautiful morning so I took photos of the oak, with Darren in it to give an idea of the size, and of the sycamore next to it.

We had a drink at the Arts centre before going into church after the service to meet the congregation. They are a lovely friendly group and they have ready lined me up to be part of the Birnam in Bloom group who tend the flower beds and planters around the village. Then we got an early lunch and Darren left before 1pm to drive back to Hornsea. Hopefully he will be home by nine this evening.
I have worked on and off in the bedroom, I was sorting through all the ‘odds and ends’ boxes and trying to put things that should be in the same place together. Had to keep at it so I could get in the bed tonight!
Pandora found one of the banana cat toys and had a play. She didn’t really play at all when we first had her.

I am not anyway near sorting out my stuff, but the bed is clear and the storage boxes fit nicely under the bed now.
Not doing a lot now, have a sleeping cat on my lap anyway!

  1. It was a beautiful morning here too. The warmest it’s been for a while. I would have preferred a walk like yours in lovely scenery, but I had to make do with the walk down Park Road into town. That oak is huge. Darren looks like a toy soldier stood next to it ๐Ÿ™‚
I didn’t think it’ll be long before you got “volunteered” for little groups around the village. It’s good though. The people there do sound really nice. You could have ended up in much worse places, so small mercies ๐Ÿ˜Š
The drive up and down isn’t really something Darren should do every weekend. But I’m sure it was nice to see him and for him to see you both.
It’s amazing how many oddments we end up with. Moving just brings them together and makes you realise. Usually it’s out of sight out of mind. Even Pandora seems pleased you’ve brought bits for her.
You need a valance on the bed now ๐Ÿ˜Š
You can’t blame the cat for everything ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. It was quite warm here too. It was lovely having Darren around at the weekend. He got home in good time too.
The sorting has seemed never ending but I will definitely get there, I do feel I am making progress.
The oak really is massive, that photo did give some idea of its size.
