Gave myself a talking to!

I have felt better today and have done quite a bit compared to lately. I thought I would catch the bus  to Freeport and then walk home. A lovely morning and the Angels Wings look lovely as I went out.

I had a drink and then walked up the hill as you walk home from the top and the bus stops at the bottom. I called in at Pavers as I have been trying to find some stretchy sandals like the ones I waited some weeks for, I really like them they are so comfortable. They had two pairs in different colours nd also spotted another pair of shoes in the wide section on sale. Bought the spray protector that is why they are sitting on the bins!

The walk back starts t Polly Path, I haven’t been along it for a while.

There are a couple of groups of the strange autumn crocuses in the back garden. Strange because just flowers, no leaves!

This next plant is in a very dry part of the garden and kept wilting but I kept it going and it has quite attractive flowers.

I phoned the hospital to check they are expecting visitors to talk about my sisters care, and then I phoned The Spire and booked my surgery for my hand to be done privately.

I went out and did a bit of garden, having a break to get tea, the bed isn’t completely clear of weed but is a bit less choked!

Didn’t want to be up and down the stairs trying to catch a colourful sunset if there was one, so will finish with non sunset sky!

Bit off colour today

I have felt a bit low and an bit achy today, so this evening I did get the pedal thing out tonight as my legs have been making walking difficult. Half n hour pedalling will he or hinder, time will tell!

I went over to see Bel for a short while this morning as I didn’t see her last week and she had n point ent on Friday this week. I did a bit of sorting and got some more stuff ready for the charity shop, it doesn’t open on a Monday so will get some more stuff over there tomorrow.

After lunch I took the saved tablet blister packs to a local estate agent that has a recycling bin for them and then along to the coop to take a couple of bags of soft plastic! We have a build up of  milk so said I would make a pasta bake for dinner with plenty of white sauce! As I was getting the dish out of the cupboard they all slipped and the large Pyrex dish is no more! Oops….

The sky was quite pretty tonight, but when I go out it is mostly obscured by the trees photos are. Bit murky through the windows. Some of each here.

There is a street lamp that I see from my window and every night as it lights it glows green for a few seconds as it comes on. I watched for it tonight but it doesn’t actually look green in the photo!

So, half an hours pedalling and I am ready for bed, but will watch a drama on tv for a bit!

Back to the boot sale

Three weeks since I was off early to the boot sale with Darren. Our usual breakfast hut was closed, but there is another one. This great car was in the car park when we arrived.

We were early and it had parked away from ones already there. That ground was packed when we left! I bought three of the books in the Vera series for a pound each, a real find, and got a dear little wren ornament with a broken beak for 50p!

Darren got me a ‘silly pressie’ yesterday, just need a helium pump now!

I did some household chores and broke down some boxes then a couple of jobs in the garden. Getting frightened to sit down as Pandora is there instantly and stays put at the moment. She gets angry and growls when I want to move….Darren sent me a picture he found of me with Purdy, a cat a had years ago, it could be Pandora. It made me sad as Purdy wandered off when I moved.

The calla lilies I rescued are doing so well in the pots, the red one has new blooms and I love the way the new leaves come out as spirals.

Going to get growled at now as I want to go and make a cuppa!

New toy, Hull and Mappleton

Will put the photo from yesterday first, the puzzle, sorting box and silly sweets.

I did use the hedge trimmer this morning, quite heavy so I couldn’t use it for too long. Didn’t take a before pic, but managed to trim the bus back that was hanging over where people park.

The bus times have changed so I checked them out and then caught the bus into Hull. I wanted to pick up the new bus timetables and Tina wanted some bubble bars from Lush. My legs really didn’t want to walk today, a little disconcerting! Took some pics, the first one from the bus on the way in, I think a new toy shop had opened.

I picked some sunflowers from the garden when I got home, these smaller multi coloured ones have a lot of blooms.

Tina took me up to Mappleton this evening, quite a few pics, no explanation needed!

Caught up with tv program on Catch up this evening. Pinned down with the cat again, she is on me as soon as I sit at the moment.

Homeward bound again!

This morning we had breakfast with Anya before setting off for home. I bought a jigsaw and a sorting box and Tina and Anya decided I had to have the sweet jar! Oops, just realised I didn’t take that photo and now I have the cat on my lap, so maybe tomorrow.

As we went through Borne we passed this hall, you can just about see that it is Derby and Joan!

Sorry, bridge pics this time, but before that the heavens opened just as we had a comfort stop.

Tina has been busy since we got back with special services etc to organise.

I have unpacked and did a few chores and unpacked the hedge trimmer and got it assembled.it is heavier than I thought but have charged the battery ready to give it a whirl!

I won’t be late to bed!

Nice lunch and hospital visit and sad ending to the day

Will begin with the sad ending, like most of the country I was very sorry to hear that the queen has died, most of us do not remember a time without her.

This morning I was up quite early and decided to go for a walk. Thought I would have a cuppa in the restaurant that does breakfast for the hotel guests. That really confused the lady welcoming guests but they did let me go in and have a drink! Then I walked up to Ferry meadows, only far enough to see one of the lakes as I had forgotten how far it was!

Tina and I went to have breakfast in Notcutts garden centre which backs onto the hotel and then Tina drove me to the Orton Centre so that I could catch the bus into town. I had a wander round when I arrived and got a new screen saver put on my phone. Then I went to meet Mike, good to see him nd we had a really lovely lunch at Prezzo. I then caught the bus to the hospital was there in time to see two physios taking my sister for a ‘walk’, very scary, she looked in pain and couldn’t put her foot flat and the two of them were hovering by her side, about ten to fifteen steps in the ward and she was completely exhausted. Then they were saying about her going home! Tried a couple of times to talk to her nurse, but ended up telling my concerns to another nurse and hoping they will get passed on. 

On the bus back to town I took a photo of one of the windows as I think it is such a brilliant idea. I often sit in buses at home where people will shut windows gain if you try to get some air!

Also went through a pretty village where there were lots of thatched properties, managed to get one photo!

Anya picked me up in town and brought me back to the hotel.

Tina and I went out for tea and are now relaxing, we are both pretty tired.
