The clouds on the hill disappeared yesterday evening and the water on the plants first thing this morning was lovely.
Bugs always like biting me but the Scottish ones are really making a meal of it on my leg!I did a bit of jigsaw this morning before I went round to the church with Darren as Tina had organised a welcome home lunch in his honour. Quite a few of the congregation were there and it was a very nice buffet.
This afternoon I went for a short walk, just down to the river and a wander along a couple of smaller paths and did a quick sketch.
After the sketch I went along a narrow path lower than the main one that I hadn’t been along before and there were a lot of wild flowers.
Saved the best to last, this bug was very tiny.I walked to the small wooden bridge before I came home, I have taken several pictures from it but not one of it, it is quite plain but a lovely spot to look at the burn.and the burn from where I took that photo. The afternoon has been taken up with the very good men’s final at Wimbledon.

Heavy on pics tonight, but that’s good. I always enjoy looking at them.
ReplyDeleteWas the water on the plants just the normal dew, or did it miraculously rain during the night? Could do with some rain here.
Blimey, the insects really have decided to eat you one small part at a time. Scottish bugs are vicious!
A welcome home lunch was a nice thing for Darren. It’s great he’s a permanent feature now ๐ I bet he’s loving it up there.
You’re never short of something to photograph or draw up there. Such a lot of nice scenery to choose from. A bit different from the crashing waves you used to see so much of, but both so nice in their own ways. I really like the sketch. It’s extremely realistic. Not sure if colour would add to it or not.
I do love the thistles. You definitely won’t have a shortage of those up there. So many other wild flowers too. You’re so spoiled for choice of what to photograph ๐ The bug is great. You do well to such good close ups with the phone camera. You should dig out the “real” camera sometime.
It’s good to see the pic of the bridge. As you say, there have been several pics taken from it on here since you’ve been up there. It gives us more of an idea of layout of things.
So, who won the final?
Yes, quite a few photos today. I am not sure if it rained but today the drips were all over the plants which was unusual.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice lunch and very relaxed with several people asking .darren how he was settling in.
I only took a pen and small sketch book out with me today as I didn’t want to have to much to carry. Wasn’t sure I would see nothing to draw that wasn’t a tree!
Jannik Sinner won the tennis, he bet Alexander Zverev who we saw play last week.
