We both slept well and had a latish breakfast then we set off to see Mike. I hd the cake nd the drawings of mine that he wanted. We chatted for a while and then went and had lunch at the cafe in the park.
Then we went into the care home to see Margherita. She hadn’t wanted a cake for herself but I made one for the staff who are all very good to her. She was just finishing her dinner nd then we chatted for n hour or so. From there it was cross to Rose with her cake. We had tea and biscuits and a natter, her little flat is very homely and she seems to be managing quite well.
We had an hour or so back at the hotel nd then went to The Granary, which is now. Beefeater restaurant and had lovely meal and ncatch up with Anya Louis and Isobel. Now back at the hotel, some pictures at the restaurant to finish. One more cake to deliver in the morning before we head home,

It was great to see you both….and a cake 😊I’m going to try as long as possible not to cut it. It’ll last longer that way! I really enjoyed lunch in the park. I’ve not been to the park for a long time, so I’ll try to make it more regularly and also visit the cafe.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to hear Margherita and Rose are ok. Rose has been in that flat a while now. She had it quite cosy when I last went, so it’s nice she’s managing it well.
A real non cooking day for you today. Is the granary the one next to nottcutts? My memory is awful.
It was a real flying visit, but cake delivery’s all complete this end of the country. Forever ☹️
Hope you have a good trip back.
Yes, the Granary is the one by Notcutts. Lots of eating out, really not good for the waistline.
ReplyDeleteThat cafe in the park is really nice and the food was good, we did resist the cakes!
I hope you hang out for a while before the cake is cut. Start soon nd you may not have a lot left for Christmas nd you need to make the most of this one!
Home tomorrow and more sorting on the agenda!
