Homeward bound again

We were up earlier today and were breakfasted and away from the hotel just before nine thirty. Some appropriate decoration by the entrance.

We went to Ramsey to deliver the final travelling cake to her. We stopped and chatted for an hour. The road to and from Ramsey was dreadful, the bumps and repairs made it feel like being on a fairground ride than going along a road.
We did have a short break half way home and I did take photos of the bridge coming home, probably won’t be seeing it for a while! Will have to find a replacement in Scotland.

We were tired when we got home, and Tina had had a busy weekend and was tired too. Darren has a nasty rash round his middle, I thought it was shingles and Tina suggested he went to see the pharmacist. He did see a lady , who confirmed he has shingles but was able to prescribe medication which he now has.
I have unpacked, more or less, and we have had tea, so now sitting with a sleeping cat on my lap.
Will finish with a photo of a badge Mike made for me and earrings that Isobel picked for me.

  1. It’s always nice to get home after a trip. I bet Pandora was happy to see you home too. At least you’re not intending to desert her again for a while 😊
That’s a sensible amount of decoration at the hotel entrance. No need to go mad like a lot of them do. We all know it’s Christmas! Humbug!
I’ve not been out Ramsey way for quite a few years, but I remember the roads being rough then. They’ll only be suitable for horses and carts before long 🙂
I suppose the nearest large bridge you’ll be near is the Forth Bridge. You recognise it easily as there’s always someone painting it 😊 I know, not everyone will understand that.
Poor Darren. Shingles isn’t very nice. I’ve never had it myself, but my friend Brian suffered with it. I’ve had the vaccinations for it so hopefully Darren won’t have passed it on to me 🙂💉
Enjoy being home for a while before the madness of Christmas and moving kick in!

  2. It was a pleasant drive home and the weather was kind. Was glad to be home and not going off anywhere for a while.
Will be trying to finish the rest of the cakes tomorrow, then get Christmas cards written!
I hope Darren doesn’t get as much pain as I did when I had shingles many years ago.
