This morning Tina and I got busy, firstly we loaded the car with my growing pile of stuff for the charity shop. Then, back home and loaded the car with lots of stuff for the tip. Darren had left stuff that could be reused and we had a halogen cooker and a microwave that were still working, so those we put in the donation area and the rest in various bins. Back home again and we moved the crates and bags full of church archive stuff, some really heavy. So not far but we loaded the car again and they are now in a safe place away from our dining room! Then we got the painted pottery and cake for Caroline and took them up to the potteries. Rob was there but looked really unwell, he had been even worse last week. We had a cup of coffee there and the first pic of the day.
Actually I have realise that wasn’t the first pic, it was of a tasteful nativity scene.
Talking of nativities we went to see the plastic light up one with ever smaller number of characters. Sadly it isn’t there this year, we were so disappointed as it is usually a highlight of the year! Then we went to Bugtopia as Tina had never been there before. The civet is a solitary nocturnal animal but showed itself when it was feed time, more of him later.
When we were watching the civet eating the keeper told us a bit about them. I won’t go into detail but she told us about civet coffee. Not nice and anther way humans abuse animals.

Well, a very productive day for you both. You’ve done loads. Certainly more than me that’s a fact π
ReplyDeleteIt’s good that you’re getting stuff to the right places. Sorting out the things to keep of get rid of is ok, but they soon pile up and take up space. At least now you can start to make more piles π I imagine there’ll be a lot of them before you get finished.
I like the nativity pic. That is a really nice one. Such a shame the other one isn’t there. I looked forward to seeing just how much worse it could get each year π If you were staying you could start a “bring back the naff nativity” petition.
They have some great animals at the bug place. The giant spider at the front is pretty cool too. I do hope you manage to find new places in Scotland to replace all the favourites you have now.
I’ve heard about the coffee. I like coffee, but that’s one I wouldn’t try!
I think you’ve done two days worth of jobs today, so a non productive day tomorrow is in order.
Meant to ask, why is the Rev kissing a dinosaur? π
I asked her to stand by the dinosaur and she decided to kiss it!
ReplyDeleteIt really was a big let down, the nativity not making an appearance this year. Sophie in the potteries said thar people came from all over the place to see it!
Although my throat is still a bit sore from the coughing and the legs were a bit iffy, it really was an enjoyable day.
