A nice aerial shot from last night!!
This morning I stayed home because we were expecting a delivery and got on with some cooking. We had minced beef and fruit in the freezer, so I made a large cottage pie and apple and blackberry and gooseberry pies. Had quite a lot of cat company in the kitchen, talking of cats the kitten was making a determined attempt to get past my gate very early this morning, don't think it will be long before I lose that battle so may box the more precious ornaments up! Had a drink with Tina when she got home then went off to see Sandy as she wanted me to check the curtains we shopped far a while ago were okay. Had a chat and cuppa with her and did a couple of little chores. She is doing fantastically well after the knee replacement surgery. I took a steady walk into town from there, had a parcel to send off and a couple of letters to post. Remembered to get myself some teabags as I had run out completely - major disaster! I went into the chemist that sells Scholl shoes but they didn't have any my size and she phoned to order a pair but they were out of stock. I used to wear them years ago and am thinking they may make me exercise my ankle more, will look on line. I caught the bus home, but have decided the ankle WILL start to improve this week, but we will see. Took some photos of plants in the front garden when I got home. This lovely bush which I keep having to prune back as it overhangs the pavement.
The lace cap hydrangea that had been strangled by the reedy plant when we first arrived is looking lovely this year.
The hollyhock I planted last year that got flattened by the wind late in the season, has begun to flower already, so should get a lot of pleasure from it this year.
I bought a set of handles to make a bag in a craft shop in Kings Lynn on Friday and some material at a great shop. Both shops have been there since Tina lived in the area.
On the to do list after dragon and birds!!
A busy day for you, and out and about too. You will master that ankle eventually. Your comment about the Scholl shoes brought back memories. I can remember wearing them years ago, and they were very comfy. Might actually make you walk a bit better, so might help. Worth a try.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely flower pictures today, and the aerial. I'm going to miss that lump of aluminium when you eventually move!
The bag will be very nice when you get time to do it. Nice material.
Don't give up with the kitten......electrified stair gate, lots of grease, and if all fails.....well I think you can work out my final piece of equipment :-)
I remember walking out of them on occasion, and I didn't swear then, but boy, did it hurt!!
ReplyDeleteThe garden has benefited from being cleared and the addition of chicken manure and sharp sand, so everything is doing pretty well.
