I made the final Christmas cake this morning, a square one this time as it is for my sister and niece and has to be dairy free for Rose. Always make it square and the rest round so that I don't get them mixed up! Did some washing this morning and sat and did puzzles downstairs for a bit as Tina was expecting deliveries, and as my ankle was pretty sore today I didn't want to have to rush down when the bell went. Made a nice mushroom omelette for lunch for Tina and myself. After that a certain little poser settled with Tina.
I got ready and went up to the bus stop to go into town, wore the Scholls again, still trying to think positively that I am getting some discomfort because they are making the muscles work, as I have said before, ever the optimist! Made an eye appointment in town, as I need new glasses I think, and got a bit of shopping. The bus was a long wait so make my way slowly to the ceramic studio and collected my guitar pen pot. Message for Pat in the USA, keep it under your hat, it is a Christmas present, I know he doesn't check the blog!!
On the way back I saw this car, parked normally so I was wondering if someone had clouted it and they had a nasty surprise in store!
A few flowers again, lovely bright orange daisy style.
Varied lobelia.
I love these blueish tinted firs.
And a lavatera to finish with.
Nothing much planned except some Olympic viewing.
The kitten looks so cute. Butter wouldn't melt...........
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realised the guitar was a pen pot too. You may have told me, but you know how bad I am. It looks nice anyway.
Oh dear, that car looks like it's had a good thump! If they don't know, they're in for a big shock when they get back to it! I like the first and last flowers, orange and pink. I walk by loads each say and never really think to take pics of them. I think I'm just too lazy to get the camera out my bag. When I do I end up taking hundreds! No in between measures!
She does look cute, she already dominates the house already though! Very unusual pen pot I think, hopefully it will travel well! There are some lovely flowers around at the moment, and they photograph well on bright days.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the ankle is no better, do you think as you need to screw your toes more wearing the sandles it is making the problem worse? You are well on with the cakes, I do very little cake making in fact can't remember the last one I made but have got all the ingredients for making Brian a Earl Grey fruit cake for his birthday. He had a slice of one recently and loved it, mine might be a different story. But what do you give a man who has everything.
ReplyDeleteSlight improvement today, but trying not to get my hopes up too much as I have been there before and got the tee shirt! I am sure your cake will turn out well, fingers crossed. x
