This morning I was up quite early and had a couple of cakes in the oven by 8.30 am.Pottered around in the house doing a couple of odd jobs while they cooked and being in just in case there were any deliveries, as Tina and I have a few things on order. Tina was in at lunchtime and she took me to the Mere so that I could try a walk, and we had a sandwich and cup of tea together before she came home. We did feed some ducks and geese, especially 'Hopalong'. a poorly goose we have seen before, we made sure he got his fair share. The yellow plant is growing in abundance and I need to identify it!
Setting off I decided to try and take some slightly different shots and not just lots of geese and swans.
When I got to the far end and across the bridges I had a rest, this picture was taken from that end, to prove I made it round as much as anything.
The ground is quite stony, well it is noticeable when you are wearing Scholls! It has made a bit of a mess of the soles of the shoes as well. The water lilies are opening now.
Had to have a bit of an arty shot.
Shame about the bit of rubbish in the foreground. This young sea gull had been digging in the undergrowth and moved on when I approached.
Some pretty forger-me-nots.
My ankle had begun to swell but at that moment still didn't feel too bad. I took a boring picture of the train line that I go along when I have trips out of Scarborough.
It was quite a trek to the bus stop and I was really struggling then, put the ankle support on as I waited for the bus. Got off at the station and walked down to York Place and caught the bus home. Did a heat treatment and have done some stretching exercises so it has settled down a bit now. I hope we get some more medals at the Olympics tonight.
A productive, and painful day! I'm really really fancying Christmas cake now. Roll on Christmas........assuming you're making me one! :-) I think you should really make them a couple of times a year, as this Christmas thing is overrated in my opinion. Seems unfair to have to wait twelve months each time!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some Beth nice photos again. The lillies and flowers always make nice colourful shots, but I like the arty ones too.
I've no idea how Beth got in there!
DeleteHave made you one, never fear! Don't know about doing all of the cake preparation more than once a year though!
DeleteBeth is a very nice name!
ReplyDeleteIt is, in fact it's my friend Charlie's wife's name. I still have no clue how it found its way in there though!
