This morning we had breakfast with Tina's friend Simon and his family, so eight of us but we managed to get a table all sitting together. The two girls came back with me before everyone else to see the kitten and to see some of the craft stuff I have been doing. Jude is a very talented girl and showed me pictures of some of the great stuff she has done. They all went off to see the church and then get back to their holiday accommodation so I walked into town. The foxglove in the front garden is just beautiful now.
I wanted to get some enamel coated pie plates and tried the pound shops and Wilkinsons but none there. I walked on down to Boyes and bought a couple there. I was struggling a bit with the ankle, but am trying to still be positive and build up how much I do. I cut through and walked along the cliff top again. You could see the rain in the distance.
It was a very muggy day today, we had been promised storms, they didn't arrive, but the clouds were rolling in.
The rain arrived as I started home, it was torrential and I got soaked, quite nice though as I had been really hot and bothered!
Took that one before I cut back through to North Marine Road. I stripped off in the porch and Tina brought me a towel so that I didn't create too much havoc in the house! It is bright out again now and still very muggy, the rain was heavy but didn't last long and didn't clear the air. Wrote a letter this afternoon but otherwise have taken it pretty easy, must be getting old!

  1. A nice breakfast always sets you up for the day. And it's good the cafe gets extra income from such a large party, although the chef probably didn't see it it like that!
Really like the foxglove, it's such a pretty flower and very photographic. You should try some macro photography with it.
Scarborough does look a very stormy place from some of the pics, and the good soaking you got goes to prove it :-) Sometimes it's nice to get soaked, specially when you don't have far to go to get home. Nothing worse than being soaked and miles away!

  2. I enjoyed the walk in the rain, had to take my glasses off as I could see better without them, that is saying something as the eyes have got worse over the years! Some had nearly finished breakfast before others in the party were served, but it is a small kitchen, one chef and plenty of other customers!

  3. Sounds like everyone had fun, the foxglove does look amazing as it out from head to toe all at once. Our weather has been lovely just a little breeze to take the heat off otherwise it would be too much. Sorry yours is not so good, shame you got so wet tho. Also hope your not finding the kitten too much bother as I know you were not keen on expanding the family, as cute as he might be.

  4. I was on my home so getting wet was fine as I could get change quickly. The kitten is no bother at the moment, but I am not encouraging her either. xxx
