I have had a really pleasant day, but it won't take up a lot of blog space! I went up to the ceramic studio just after 10 am and painted a big ornament that I had on one side, and also a pot with a daffodil on top that I selected yesterday. Very quiet in there today, so nice chats with Sandy and Donna and about 5 hours of painting!
The pig was from another potter and a one off, as was the pot. One patch on the pig would not accept the paint, so after a bit of sanding and more layers it is covered, but I am just hoping that it stays covered in the firing. When I came home I topped up the bird feeders, the stand was listing rather alarmingly, tried to prop it with more slabs, but with gale force winds forecast again tonight I am not holding my breath! Having a break and then may do a bit more jigsaw.......
I like both of those, the pig in particular is quite cute.
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time I'm there it would be a good idea to concrete a post into the ground to attach the bird feeder to.
I did say to Tina earlier that if it went down again I would get you to concrete it in, although at the moment I am worried the actual pole will snap!
DeleteConcrete a tall wooden post in, then attach the pole to the side of it, that way nearly all the stress is on the wood.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! You know what you will be doing next time!
DeleteI'll pack my work clothes :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's great! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat would you do without such a handyman, he is one in a million. Lucky You.
ReplyDeleteLove both the pig and daffodil love all the spring flowers, good luck with the pig.
Gales here today and rain. Xx
