Walk on the wild side!

Not really wild at all but Tina had a letter that had been wrongly delivered to the parish hall, it was for a different village, so thought I would give walking to the post box near the traffic lights a go. The magnolia in the front garden has quite a lot of buds this year, the one in the back doesn’t do so well.

I managed okay with the crutches and what a lovely day to get out of the house. I did go into the walled garden and sat there briefly, but it was a bit cooler as the sun wasn’t shining on it. I checked the bonsai trees and they all seem to have survived having their roots attacked! This one was looking particularly happy.

Having trouble with one of the exercises, the knee won’t bend to 90 degrees yet. Just checking how the leg was doing was a bit taken aback that the operated one looked like I had spray tanned it!

After lunch I had a wander round the garden and took some pics of the flower beds.

Still feeling ridiculously tired and it actually made me feel a bit woozy a couple of times today, still battling with getting a decent sleep, but it will come.

I have done a bit more to the jigsaw, I only keep going because Bel bought it for me!

Quick entry, fell asleep!

Was going to start the blog almost an hour ago but just went to sleep! So will write it now, won watch the programme I was going to watch, much better idea to just get to bed! The Fitbit rated my night a ‘poor’ m last night, the first time it has done that, however I think it has been! I have done some more to the jigsaw, on and off and still ridiculously slow. Reba came round for and hour this morning, it was really nice to see him. He is hobbling at the moment, his knee is sore and he keeps managing to knock it on something!

Apart from that haven’t done a lot, so a pic of the jigsaw and the sky when I went to feed the cats, at a quick glance, through sleepy eyes, it looked the trees looked like a bit church in the sky……..time to go to bed I think!

Nice visit from Angela and flowers from Angie

Darren and Tina had to go out this morning and Angela came round at about 9.30 am and we had a cuppa and can’t. After a while Angela went over to her Bemora Kitchen and got me a take away super mocha and she had a shroom coffee.. while she was with me a package arrived, flowers from my friend Angie in Peterborough. I got them arranged in a vase when Angela’s went home just before twelve.

The tulips Anya brought up last Sunday are still okay, so colourful in my sitting room at the moment.

I tried reading for a while but have been very tired today and was just falling asleep, so have had a couple of spells trying to do bits of the jigsaw. Bits being the correct word. Not much more to report and an early night is beckoning I think. I could do with feeling a little less tired!

Feeling weary but positive

I was up really early gain, not because of a bad night but because I really don’t like sleeping on my back! So up by 4.30am but dozed on the chair for a while with Pandora on my lap, well, the left leg of my lap to be precise! Jean called in with a card and a very pretty hydrangea. She stayed of a cuppa and a chat.

Postage stamps are going up in price again next month so I sent for half sheets of first and second class stamps from Royal Mail. No delivery charge as ai spent a lot so no more than.I would pay at the local post office but got to choose some pretty ones!

That should keep me going for a while!

Caroline from the pottery studio came into visit me this afternoon and Rob, her brother is going to visit on Sunday. He missed me on Wednesday this week.

I have put a few more pieces into the jigsaw, but not looking a lot different, will try and get a bit further tomorrow.

Watching Comic Relief now, haven’t donated yet, but will be….

An easy day

After a particularly bad day, jarring the leg on the way home didn’t help with that! So kept with the medication and the discomfort has eased through the day. Pandora is determined if nothing else, I used the frame in the night so she couldn’t settle on me but early this morning ai had the iPad and I for from the hospital on my lap while I sat in bed having a drink. She settled on the paperwork in a confined space, causing me no discomfort, and stayed there for a while, until she heard Tina on the move to be precise.

I spent the day downstairs, did some reading, but that found me dropping off, so started to try and do a bit to the hummingbird jigsaw. Not that many pieces but it is on the way.

Watched a film with Tina this afternoon, Green Card, based on a true story, we both really enjoyed it.

So, a short entry today as not much else to say. The bruising is coming out on the leg now, will be quite colourful before long!

Good and not so good

I had very little sleep was checking the time every few minutes. Sat up in the night to read for a bit and another time to use the iPad. I was unhappy though I was resting. I had squeeze thinks on my legs and counted hoops lon, fifteen seconds from one finishing to the start of the other and fifty seconds for the whole cycle. Has to be said that it wasn’t conducive to sleep! Sitting early this morning I thought that there was a Perspex roof outside, but realised it was an optical illusion made by the blind!

Then another one when I was washed and dressed.

The physio guy today was very happy with how ai was doing, said I was walking like ai hadn’t had anything done. Did the three stairs they have with a crutch and he was happy to discharge me and not see me again.

Had a really nice lunch, in fact I wouldn’t have said tuna and chees if ai had known the size of the portions!

Another thing I did in the night was a little sketch, using the metal pencil I bought in the Japanese shop in Sheffield. It has a special replaceable ‘lead’ and never needs sharpening and lasts for months! Well, that is the claim, so we will see.

Tina came to the hospital this afternoon and I was eventually discharge with a plethora of pills and sickness potions.

Caroline sent me pics of the coffee pot I was so worried about, she loves it and thinks the customer will too.

The journey home put a bit of a damper on the day as I went to get in the car as ai usu ally do and jarred the leg so it was extremely painful and it isn’t in a hurry to settle down. Hopefully it will calm down by the morning.

Out the other side!

A long day and feeling sore and a bit sick now, but so far so good. Had breakfast about 4.15 am and a cuppa!no food or anything but water after 6am.

Got everything packed and sorted and Tina drove me down to the sea front before Sarah came to collect me.

Arrived in good time and Sarah and David stayed until it seemed pretty certain the surgery would go ahead. The room is plain but comfortable.

Various checks and agreed I would have the spinal injection with a very lovely female anaesthetist. She couldn’t get the sedation needle into my hand so went for the arm. I didn’t enjoy the spinal injection but slept through the surgery and woke up in recovery. Two really lovely nurses in there and had a nice tea at five.

The physio had me up and walking a bit, and sitting out now. Feeling a bit sick since the exercise, but the surgeon said the operation went well, so fingers crossed. Physio said I should be going home tomorrow.
