These legs were made for walking - maybe!

We didn’t have the snow that was forecast but it was cold and the bird baths were frozen again.it was bright and sunny but the wind was very cold. Our local post office opens to take in packages on Sundays and bank holidays, they don’t get collected until a working day but you can get things there to go out with the first collection.I had another package to send so walked down there fairly early and then walked up to see the sea. As it was quite early and pretty cold I was there before too many people were around. The sea look d stunning so quite a selection of photos, some similar but all a bit different.

After lunch I went out again as I was feeling very restless today. I thought I would walk out of town passing Tesco and heading towards the foot path by the mere. It is quite a way to the start, I took a couple of pictures on the way as you could see glimpses of the mere.

Then just three while I was on the footpath.

Not sure if this is a weed or a stray plant, but it was attractive as I walked back.

Took this from a bench where I sat for a short rest.

I did some ironing for about an hour this afternoon, so a reasonably busy day. And certainly more walking in one day than I have done for a while.

Easter Sunday and World Rat Day

My friend used to keep rats and I quite like them, although they say we are always within a few feet of a wild rat I have rarely seen one!

It was frosty when I went out to feed the birds at about 6.30 and the bird baths were frozen! Very changeable weather at the moment, supposed to be getting snow over night!

I did go to the shop this morning but have spent most of the day trying to sort out the tea making corner in my bedroom. Have changed some furniture around and thrown more stuff away. It is a very confined area but I think I have got it more workable, providing I keep it tidy, that could be the fly in the ointment!

I went round to the parish hall with Tina this afternoon to help her mark out seat spacing for an open air service. We had the six foot canes and used red cones. A couple of the congregation came nearer service time and were gong to start putting the chairs out j the markers.

So just cooking dinner and sorting made it a pretty poor photo day so took some pictures in the garden when I went out to put the fox food down. Oh yes, I forgot that Tina had rescued a very tiny mouse from Blue this morning and after keeping it in a bus with some hay for a bit for it to dry off and recover we took it it to the hedgehog house. Checked this evening and it was gone, so we are hopeful that it has got away after it’s ordeal.

Fish Fingers and Custard Day!

Fish and chips with curry, gravy or mushy peas, but custard?

I did go to the post office this morning as I had sold some items on eBay, I used the trolley as they were quite heavy. Then we sorted the shopping and since then I have been continuing with sorting. Well, mainly in the spare room, going through the mountains of stuff for a boot sale. I sorted in to different boxes according to price, very cheap prices at that. Sorted books roughly into categories and labelled the boxes. The spare room now looks considerably better than it did a while ago!

When I had a break I sat with my feet up but Pandora settled for staying on the window seat as she was quite comfy!

We had dinner at lunch time as Tina had a service this evening so I just carried on through the afternoon. I have huge amounts of recycling to go to the tip, but all in all a rather boring but successful day.

When I went out to feed the foxes I took some early evening pictures.

The light on the church was lovely this evening.

National DIY Day!

I went shopping pretty early, took the trolley today as there was an offer on at the Coop. We have been having shopping deliveries lately but I split them with the local shop today. I got some washing on and then went into the garden, was going to hoe and weed the large bed in the back again, it is getting full of seedling sycamore trees as a huge tree in the park overhangs the garden! I had asked Darren to help with the large tree stump and he came out so we got that sorted first.

It didn’t take Darren too long, I filled the hole and levelled the area off afterwards. Also took a picture of the log, it was a hefty thing!

I had a lovely surprise today, a box of fabulous goodies instead of chocolate from Anya and family.

May have to sample something this evening!

I spent quite a while in the garden hoeing, weeding and trimming all the edges. Then I got the hand mower out to try and trim near the edges. It was jammed but after some oil it was working, although I suspect it could do with a service!

I was tired and sat for a while this afternoon, Pandora settled on me that that made me have an hour!

My day today! April fool’s day.........

Feeding the birds this morning I went over to check on the old garden cart that I recycled into a planter. I did see a squirrel burrowing in there last week. The plants that I put in there have done well and now they are flowering. I was quite attached to that cart, even more so since the new one has been such a disappointment!

We both had deliveries due this morning and Tina had to go out fairly early so I stayed in and then went for a walk off in the direction of Honeysuckle farm again. Have been feeling tired and wasn’t feeling too keen to have a walk but aimed on getting as far as last time at least. I actually got to the fifth and last telegraph pole. After that civilisation stopped!

Opposite the bench Martin who runs Taylor Tree Care was there with a team cutting back some very large trees. The man is in the first pic if you look closely, easier to make out on the third one!

I passed these narcissi on the way home.

Back at home the magnolia in the front garden has flowers opening,

I have got a couple more things listed on eBay and had a while out in the summer house this afternoon. Also got the few plants in that I bought at Countdown a few days ago.
