Getting chilly here, frost this morning, so a chilly walk into Dunkeld. A couple of photos on the way.
I decided to start on the front of the bed today as there may be some plants from the hanging baskets that can go in the bed for a while, and that will give a bit of colour. So they would be better ner the front to be seen.It spent over an hour before we stopped for a cuppa then did a bit more before packing up. The weed nd nettles have had time to spread their roots so clearing, even partially will take some time. But one of the other ladies said you could see where I’d been working!Tine drove by when I was half way home so I got a lift, which was nice a I was feeling weary. After lunch I did walk back into Dunkeld for the afternoon group, but hadn’t touched the embroidery all week and didn’t feel inclined to do any today so took one of the small sketch books and a pen. I did do a sketch while I was listening to the chatter. One of the ladies was 99 yesterday and she walks to the hall a she lives nearby, she just uses a stick.I got a lift home with one of the ladies, which was nice.
Not planning to do much this evening except my exercises.

The photos even look nice on a chilly morning. I don’t think you’ll ever find a time when they don’t, unless it’s actually throwing it down really hard when you take them 😊
ReplyDeleteYou can definitely see your progress on the bed. I just hope they don’t start growing back before you get there next week. It’ll look nice once you start to get a bit of colour in it.
I can’t say I blame you for not being overly inclined to do the embroidery. It is very fiddly and hard on the eyes too. You’ll have to pick an easier one next time 😊 I have to say I do like your sketch though, so not a wasted afternoon.
99 and still making her own way there. I don’t think I’ll be achieving anything like that, not that I think I’ll even be around at that age.
Hopefully you did suffer any more bites this morning while gardening. Time will tell.
Enjoy a quiet evening.
It was chilly but a lovely morning, bright and clear.
ReplyDeleteI think it will definitely be a case of regular hoeing to keep the bed looking reasonable as there is no way I can remove all the roots. Will just have to endeavour to keep new plants from being smothered.
Wasn’t really anything else to draw at the hall, so still life it was!
Not itching yet, I did spray my hair and my cap so fingers crossed!
