Quiet day

I put the two painted plates I kept up in my sitting room this morning as I was going through some bits to see if I could find homes for. Tina and I walked into Dunkeld to a Friday coffee morning. It was busy and very noisy in there so hard to have a decent conversation. It was a bright morning so took a photo on the way home.

The brightness made the scenery seem much darker than it did to the naked eye. When we got back I was not in the mood for finding homes for things so did a rough drawing of the bonsai tree stand I hope the shed carpenter will make for me.

Tina has emailed a picture of it to him. He will be coming back some time to finish thr work on one of the doors so will hopefully discuss it with him then. After lunch I went to the post office which is in the village shop. The mobile pizza van was setting up, it apparently comes on Fridays and serves from 3pm.

I had a chat on the phone to Sher which was nice. Early evening I walked over to the art centre library with Tina and we both became members. Your membership up here entitles you to access to magazines and newspapers which is great. We ordered a pizza on the way home and Tina collected it after fifteen minutes. I didn’t have my phone with me so Tina took a couple of pics of the trees for me.

The pizza was tasty. A quiet evening now.

  1. It might have been a quiet day by your standards, but you still got a reasonable amount done. A coffee morning is always good as it beats doing anything else, but not so good if it’s really noisy. Very hard to chat, and you end up with a headache d!
The scenery still looks good in that pic, even if it is a bit dark. A lot of phones will let you tap in the dark area before you press the shutter and alter the exposure a little.
I like the plan for the bonsai stand. I’d like to see that as a finished article, depending on price obviously.
Pizza Fridays from now on then 🙂 You just need someone to bring a fish and chip van and a chicken van now and you’ll be sorted.
The library doing free online newspapers and magazines is a great idea. I prefer paper copies, but if you look at them on an iPad or laptop they’re quite readable. There’s never much good to read in the papers these days though ☹️
Nice colourful trees against the sky. I get more jealous with every picture I look at. And now the pizza van tops it all 😂
Enjoy your quiet evening, what’s left of it.

  2. The mobile pizza van is a new one on me but a great idea to come to small villages like this one. I think we were number 18 and it was still quite early. The library isn’t open all the time, but once you know the opening times it is fine, and it is very near for us.
The coffee morning was well attended so obviously the place to meet people.
Hopefully the carpenter will decide he can make me something along the lines of my idea, I know it won’t be cheap, but I have kept the trees going for years so will be good to have then properly displayed.
