First full day in Birnam

Neither of us slept that well, different and not very comfortable beds and a cat that was still exploring and  landing on us now and again! We needed shopping so Tina drove us to a Tesco, a very rural twisty road with huge puddles and flood signs, about half n hours drive away. Pandora is desperate to get out and being quite vocal about it. When we got back she had hidden under one of the beds and didn’t come out to greet us! It was cold and wet but I went out to take some outside pics when we got back. First one is the view from the main door, two of the bits of garden and one of the bungalow.

We had lunch and did a bit of sorting our stuff and the took down all the pictures that we don’t want to keep. Some were quite nice but we have a mountain of pictures of our own and don’t need any more.
We decided to go and have a coffee at the art centre much to Pandoras annoyance. She was hiding again when we got back. We picked up a program of things coming up at the art centre, it is quite a busy place with demonstrations, exhibitions and film showings. It also houses the Beatrix Potter exhibition. Tina  took this photo as we sat with our drinks.

Tina made front page up here as well as in Hornsea!

Ii have had two messages from Jacky today showing two of my artwork pieces up on her wall.

Tina left for her conference at about three thirty, I pottered a bit, clearing away lunch things and the stuff I brought with me to do while I was here alone. Feet up with a puzzle book and a Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris cd playing. Pandora comes and joins me occasionally.
That will be about the sum of the activity for the rest of the evening!

  1. Well the first day of exploring went ok. At least you know where Tesco is, and the arts centre. Is the art centre in walking distance? Be handy for the occasional coffee if it is. I’m sure you’ll be attending a few of the events too.
Hopefully Pandora will settle down in a few days. It’s strange for you, so I imagine it must seem very odd to her. She’s probably worried that you’re going to put her in the crate again for the return journey. Little does she know………..
It looks a nice bungalow, and more modern than I expected. Is that the extent of the garden?
Trust Tina to get on the front page 😊
Jacky’s framed those bits of artwork nicely. See, you’ve spread you artistic talents all over the country 🙂
Really pleased to hear you’re having a nice quiet evening doing nothing. It’s about time! Even your little friend is pinning you down so you can’t do much.
    Hae a guid nicht. 😊

  2. We didn’t do a lot but it was interesting. Yes, the art centre is a short walk away and I will be going back to look round the Beatrix Potter section soon. I will try and remember to get the name f the town where Tesco is, I think it is Glen something!
Definitely keeping to the quiet evening, have just found one of the books I brought with me.
