I went out quite early to check the times of the buses to Perth and there was one at 9.25am so got ready and went to catch it. I need to get a Scottish bus pass but the fare was £6.10 for a return and the journey was over an hour. The bus was quite full so I had to switch on one of the lower seats and couldn’t get a good view, but it was a very rural trip with some very narrow and bendy roads and a lot of very isolated houses, presumably farm houses. A lady I met at the bus stop and she said that you caught the bus home where yu got off, so that was helpful. There are signs in the city to give you some ide where things are, but it is still very strange trying to remember which way you went! Some photos of the city, I went to the museum cafe for a drink, and had a look in the shop but didn’t buy anything.
More about that building a bit later. The buskers were two me playing violins, very unusual and they were good too.I went into a shopping arcade and there was a key cutting place that fixed watches as well and a lovely young man removed the loose stone from my watch and even gave me the stone in a bag. No charge.
Near the bus stop I looked in a shop window and thought these baby models were really creepy!

I didn’t realise you had to have a different bus pass up there. Not a bad price for a return journey of that length. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of other times when you’ll get the chance to sit a bit higher in the future. How often does that service run to Perth and back?
ReplyDeleteYou’ll soon get to know all these places well and won’t need a second thought about where you’re going.
You were very good not buying anything in the museum shop. You can do that when you find you have an odd space to fill once everything is finally sorted 🙂
There was a big thing a little while ago about fake buskers miming to violin music. There were loads of them up and down the country and people put load of videos of them on YouTube. They were usually on their own, so your buskers are probably the real thing.
Great to finally get the watch sorted, and free of charge. They’re obviously nice people up there. I doubt you’d get the same service here!
The cake looks really nice…….let me guess……carrot 😂
There’s some really nice art in that display. My favourite is the polar bear in the third one 😊 Don’t apologise for taking so many, the more the better.
I have to agree, those dolls are weird. Put those in your kids room and frighten them to death!
The bed should be a bit better for you now it’s raised. Just a warning though. Those risers look just the right size and positions to stub your toe on, and you definitely wouldn’t want that just before bed.
I’m not at all surprised you’re weary. You’ve not really stopped properly for quite a while now. It’ll be good when you can get back to just the good bits of life 😊
It will be good getting to find my way around Perth. We passed the cathedral on the way in but no signs to it that I could see. Something to find next time I go in.
ReplyDeleteThe bed being higher is good, as well as having space for my boxes underneath. I can start trying to have everything in its right place and not having all sorts stuffed in together to get them out of the way.
Will try and order a bus pass this week.

Oops, you've got an echo again.
