I went out quite early as I was expecting a delivery at some point during the day. I went to the local shop and bought a card which needed sending today, I took a pen and stamp with me! Not a great selection of cards in the shop but I found one that was suitable. I bought a few other things, the shop is a bit like Countdown in Hornsea, all sorts of stuff. The local shop is also a post office now, that part didn’t open until ten but as I had the stamp she said they could send it rather than me walk to the postbox as it was another damp day. I took some photos, the first one is the path we take to go round the church and into the village. Then one of the most on the hills and the church.
Got my first Scottish note.
I had no idea when the mattress was arriving so did a bit of paperwork and wrote a couple of letters. I also moved a chair round so that Pandora could get not the window sills and see out of different windows.

I have to say it does look nice there, apart from the weather. Some lovely buildings and scenery. You’ll be so spoiled in the summer 😊
ReplyDeleteYou’re meeting the locals already, all with broad Scottish accents I assume. I think I’d find it hard to move somewhere where everyone speaks with a different accent. Not that I wouldn’t be able to understand them, just that moving from somewhere you’d hear the odd Scottish accent, to somewhere you were the odd one out would be strange for a while. I wonder how long it’ll be before you start acquiring the accent yourself?😊 The money is another thing I hadn’t thought about. I know it’s the same, but just looks different. To be honest I think I prefer it.
Glad you had a visitor today. Plus it sounds like there’ll be things going on locally that you’ll want to attend and join in with.
I think you made the right decision by not unpacking the mattress. You definitely don’t want to knock yourself out when it unfurls and spend the night on the floor!
I bet Pandora appreciates being able to get up to the windows now. It’ll get her used to the layout a bit for when she eventually goes out.
Tina always seems to go to really nice religious places. This vicaring lark is money for old rope! 😂
I am sure when we have a bright day it will look even lovelier. It is a pretty village. Not looking like there will be a bright day just yet.
ReplyDeleteI like the note, the back particularly, will be interesting to see other denominations.
I did open one of the windows a tint bit so that she could sniff the air. Hopefully she won’t run off when we do let her out. One person suggested I put a harness on her, they obviously do not appreciate the the likelihood of that with Pandora is zero.
The lady who called round today was very enthusiastic about the area and what it has to offer.
All the places that Tina has spent time at seem very serene and lovely.
