Time to say goodbye

The first photo today was sent by Anya, how good is this view to wake up to, that cottage has been a gem.

They had to be out of the cottage by ten and were here soon after that. They had a drink and packed some pictures and ornaments of mine that they were keeping into their bursting at the seams car.

We were going to the garden centre so that they could see what bargains they could find at the half price Christmas goods sale. I went up with Darren as there was no room in their car. Darren had to scrape the car and he called me over to see the patterns on the bonnet, not that you can see them!

The family did find some bargains and went round several times so they didn’t miss nything.

We didn’t buy any ‘stuff’ as we re giving stuff away at the rate of knots at the moment. But we wandered around the other area and I got some single bed bedding at a great price and a new dairy as I didn’t get one from Ringtons this year. We met up at the cafe area and had lunch together before they set off for home and we got back just as Tina did. Haven’t done a lot this afternoon, ordered some change of address cards and a map of Birnum and Dunkeld.
I felt very tired a while ago and it has gone off a bit at the moment, but not sure I will stay up until midnight!
A hopy new her to everyone. See you next year.

Arcade and Scrabble

Anya came to collect me again this morning and I was able to enjoy the view from their cottage again. A kestrel even appeared today.

We then walked along the cliff top and the seafront to the amusement arcade. A place where you become a child again and are determined to win that prize! Louis went for a walk with Aurora and the rest of us all managed to win a trinket or two for Isobel! Darren and Tina had joined us and when we had used all the coins we had lunch at the hub. We walked home and had the rest of the afternoon into the evening here.
Tina had got treats for Aurora as they had become best buddies.

One from yesterday as well.
Tina and I got dinner and then we all had a game of Scrabble on the super sized board.
Pandora had stayed hidden upstairs all the time Aurora was here. Took a bit of coaxing to get her today, in fact we called and called, don’t know where she had hidden herself as I thought we had looked everywhere!
Another very enjoyable day.

Pottery painting and walk on the beach.

This morning Anya came and collected me, we went to Tesco and the to their holiday cottage. It is absolutely fabulous, looks out onto the sea and is delightfully decorated with lots of local paintings and art creations. The is a window in the sitting room with a settee near the window.I tried to catch the seagulls flying by, but my phone camera has started taking a long time to click, so plenty of sky pics!

Anya and I walked to the edge to access the cliff edge walk to the sea.
We were going to walk down there later but we had an appointment at the potteries. Darren and Tina met us there and we all painted. Several pics and the our efforts.

We then went and did a bit of shopping, stopped at Tesco to get some bits for lunch and then set off for that walk to the beach. Louis and Isobel walk from the point I took the photo from, Anys and I joined it at the next road where it was a little wider. Then down a lot of steps to the shore.

Then we headed back to the vicarage and Anya and Isobel joined when we went to get the fish and chips. Afterwards we pulled more of the crackers and then played a couple of game of scrabble.
I have now been relaxing with Pandora after a lovely day.

Some nice family time.

This morning it was a bit of tidying, a nip to the shop and preparing the veg for dinner. Tina had rearranged their sitting room yesterday so there was more space and seating.

Anya, Louis, Isobel and Aurora arrive at 2.30 pm had a drink and we chatted for a while, Pandora has sped up the stairs as usual when the bell rung, so didn’t come face to face with Aurora. They stayed for a hour or so and then set off to walk the dog and get their bags into the holiday let.

They came back about five and I was timing dinner for six, Pandora hd been down for a bit but raced upstairs gain and stayed out of the way. Tina put their screen cross the bottom of the stairs so Aurora couldn’t get upstairs.

The dinner turned out okay and we opened some of the crackers I had made. Darren never wears the cracker hat but did briefly today, when the phones came lut Isobel was quick enough to catch him with it on, Anya took the one where he thought he had take it off quickly enough!

And one of the snappers!

Darren joined Anya, Isobel and me for a few games and Tina sat with Aurora chatting with Louis. When they went to their holiday home I came up and had Pandora on my lap for a while, she my have ventured downstairs now to investigate.
We are off to go pottery painting tomorrow.

I must be crackers!

I haven’t been out today, except to put stuff in the bins. Someof the day trying to make it look a bit less I am getting ready to move as Anya and family are coming up to Hornsea tomorrow to spend a couple of days with us.

Then a lot of the day was taken up with making crackers to pull with the family tomorrow. I had bought little items to go inside when we went to Beverley a few days go. The first job was pushing out the diamonds ( sorry Tina, the rhe buses) there were twenty two on each cracker, then had to tape the snaps in and assemble them. I did a couple of snaps and then happily went on assembling and was half way done when I realised I hadn’t put the amps in!

I had put minimum decoration on, I hadn’t realised they were plain.

Then it was tying one end and then adding the heat, joke and gift. There is a discreet initial on them all so they go to the right recipient.

I got a nice surprise package this afternoon, a t shirt from Kate who had got me a college shirt. I still have, and wear one from Rebecca.

Not much on tv this evening but I have found a program about Johnny Cash.

Quiet day, bit more packing!

I went to bed very early and got up later than usual, obviously needed the sleep! It has been a pleasant day, some tidying, some watching tv and some packing!

This morning an ok leaf blew in the back door, we have no oak trees nearby although Tina said there is one in the churchyard. It is a very pretty leaf!

Tina was given some flowers yesterday and they have been stood in water. She said I cam enjoy them so I got them into a vase, the other flowers are still lovely so I have lots to look at.

After tea the three of us decided to have a game of Scrabble, we had a somewhat a in welcome participant!

We are going to watch the celebrity Pottery Throw Down this evening. Doubt I will be late to bed, but not as early as last night.

Moody skies and happy birthday Tina

I have felt chilled today and very tired, I was late to be this morning then had a disturbed night. But it has been a quiet and very nice day. Will give a quick summery then lots of pics as I am off to bed once I have done the blog.

A fairly quiet morning, I looked at the cracker making kit but that was as far as I got, more to do than I had anticipated. We opened a present before Tina went to take her services and then some more when we had lunch I had taken a couple of pics through the window in the morning, it looked threatening a lot of the day, but no rain or sleet. I went for a walk after lunch and the wind was really bitter, but I wa well wrapped up.

Lovely afternoon evening watched some tv together and Tina and I had a game of Scrabble. Watched the Strictly Christmas show which was good. A fairly simple dinner and then birthday cake before I came upstairs. So if you don’t want to see picks of moody skies stop looking now!
