Fused glass and visits

I went to collect my fused glass piece before I went to see Bel, I couldn’t wait to see it and I knew she would be interested. I am really happy with it so need to start planning what iwilldoat the next workshop in November, need to challenge myself a bit more!

Bel was okay and had finished the very difficult round jigsaw she has been doing for a few weeks now. She left it out for me to see and was gong to pack it away after I left.
Tina had been out in the garden cutting back more brambles, she had filled the large bag again so we took it straight up to the tip before we had lunch.
I walked to Jeans and took a few sea pics on the way. It was looking lovely today and nice clouds too.

Garden chums and shopping

Tina and I both headed out into the garden fairly early and spent a cute of hours toiling. Tina did Stirling work clearing brambles and weeds along the far fence and in front of the gate that has been unreachable from while. She had pruned the Hornse herring apple tree before that.

I had already started clearing this bed before I took the photo the ground was all green!

Once I had finished I helped Tina cut up bramble and holly branches and we filled the big white rubble sack and the garden cart a couple of times.

I made us a nice omelette for lunch and then we went to Lidl to do the main shop. I did go out in the garden briefly when we had unpacked the shopping rand put a few plants in the bed.

Tina and I have both done a bit to the jigsaw today, will take a photo tomorrow.  Other than that I haven’t done a great deal. Visit day tomorrow and I will collect my fused glass.

Evening injury but all is well

Pandora like to stretch out on my lap and down my legs, rarely curled up like most cats. Is he often digs her claws in when she starts to slip, I have the marks to prove it. She did the same yesterday evening and when I tried to move her she ran off and then I realised that I was bleeding and it was pumping out of the tiny pin prick of a hole. She had obviously caught a vein or something. I shouted for Darren and Tina as I of blood! After wrapping it and putting pressure n for a while it stopped and Tina put a plate over it. They put salt on the blood n the carpet but sadly it hasn’t touched it, it did move some.

Shame about my nice rug!

My trousers took the brunt, this was the water when I asked them!
Definitely enough excitement for this week!
This morning I filled a couple of troughs with complete st and planted sme lots Linda gave me and some hollyhocks that I grew from seed.

Then I spent an hour or so sorting out the greenhouse so that I have space for things I want t over winter n there. I had let it get into a dumping ground the bind weed runs riot in there and I removed a lot of it and the roots from along the outside of greenhouse and it goes underneath.
I picked some of the sunflowers as the plant was falling over.

We went for lunch at the garden centre as I wanted t buy a couple of trays to go under the troughs. That was all I bought.
I did go out in the garden for a hour or so again this afternoon and did some hoeing and cleared a bed that was full of weeds and dead headed the dahlias so hopefully they will have some new growth.
Will finish with a picture of the rest of the family, including Pandora at the jigsaw!

Pandora has been on my lap for a while this evening but luckily kept her claws to herself!

Glass fusing workshop and garden

This morning I went to the workshop armed with my design and not oodles of confidence. Just had cut the circle for me and had left the green glass out as she knew I intended trying to do a plant image. I got on pretty well with the cutting today and only used the grinder on one of the large leaves. I am really pleased with the result, I can collect it on Friday.

I went to the shop after the workshop and then after lunch I went into the front garden to tidy the main bed and gravel path. I worked for over an hour and did get half a dozen plants in as well. I was struggling with the bending and the pain it was causing so that was it for today.

I worked on the jigsaw a bit before getting dinner.
I had thought of going for a short walk to avoid getting any stiffer but Tina suggested driving down and having a walk together along the front.

It was quite breezy but a lovely evening. Sitting with Pandora now. Will try and have a gardening day tomorrow.

Early walk and garden centre

I went for a walk before 8am, it was a lovely morning. I walk up to the beginning of the trail, the dry stream has some puddles now but still a long way from being a stream again!

It was nice being on the trail in the early morning.

Some nice sea pictures.

When I came home I had a cuppa with Tina and the went to the banking hub. We had a look round the garden and I endeavoured to photograph this fantastic web.
I started to sort the edge pieces of the latest jigsaw while Tina caught up with some paperwork, not work related! Then we set off to find Southwood garden centre in Cottingham. We had lunch there and this pretty picture was on the wall in the cafe.

There was a great skeleton over the entrance and a singing owl inside!

I bought some compost and a terracotta trough. We stopped at another garden centre on the way home where I bought a few bedding plants.
I got dinner and watered the bonsai trees and now have my furry friend on my lap. I need to finalise my design for the workshop tomorrow and then watch the last part of the drama before bed.

Boot sale , garden and sea

This morning we went to the boot sale as usual. I got an apron for 20p, no pic of that but it is a wipeable one rather than material. I like the cloth ones but they get really mucky! I also got two lovely specimen vases to use for my hydroponics, they were £3 and two necklaces for 20p each.

Darren and Tina went off to the have a go archery session at Burton Constable and after I had chatted with Anya I did go and do some pruning in the front garden for an hour.

Darren and Tina got back in time for the Grand Prix which I watched with them. Tina did have a go at Burton Constable.

I spent some time upstairs as I needed to clear away from all the preparation for the sale and put everything away again. I went down to get some tea and Tina asked if I wanted to join them for fish and chips by the sea. We enjoyed then and then Darren drove us to Mappleton. A lot of pics, took a long time to catch that seagull!

I finished off the clearing up when we got home and did a bit of ironing. Then had a bit of a play with a design for Tuesday.
Catching up with a drama now.

Welcome home Tina

I will start with the picture of the latest jigsaw from the subscription.

The weather was okay today which is good as it was the garden market day. Darren helped me get everything across to Number Nine at 9am and helped a bit with the setting up.

It was warm at times but the wind built up so the pictures kept blowing over and I got quite cold sitting around. Not a great day and brought most of it home but was worth a try.
Tina got home just after lunch time and came across to see me at the garden.
This evening we watched The Thursday Murder Club which we all enjoyed.
