There was a new sign up for a Commonwealth war grave, went to find the grave as well.
Stephen, who has done some work at the vicarage made a fantastic new notice board for the church.
Great street sign there too.
Tina had a wedding rehearsal at the same church a bit later in the day so we went to have some lunch in a Garden Cafe in the fabulously named bug Lane. Interestingly this tiny lacewing was on th car when we came out!
We had time to pay a quick visit to Fraisthorpe beach, which is surrounded by fabulous wind turbines.
Tina had to stop as it as a narrow road so she took that second picture for me. The beach there is lovely too.
After that we went to Bridlinton Morrison’s to do a grocery shop. Well, I say grocery shop but it looks very like it is time to make the Christmas cakes!
Just been down to look at the sky so will add three more pics.
A very full day and lots of photo opportunities too. I do like the red brick church, as it makes it stand out more than others. Along the same lines as yesterday’s ally photo. That’s great noticeboard that he had made. Looks like a nice bit of English oak. He’s definitely a craftsman.
ReplyDeleteThe turbines always look very stately to me. They should put a lot more of them up. I can understand some people not wanting them right on their doorstep though. Not everyone’s cup of tea.
I’m guessing the pic of the cake ingredients doesn’t include everything. I can5 imagine you making the amount you do with one bag of flour!
That is a huge 3lb bag of flour, which gives an idea of ghost much dried fruit there is there too! The notice board is oak and it if fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love the turbines, guess they are probably noisy though.
I’d guessed it was a 3lb bag, but it just didn’t seem enough for all the cakes you make. I had really taken into account that they were mainly filled with fruit. I’m not too bright you know :-)
ReplyDeleteThat’s right, not as much flour as you would think.
