This morning the three of us had a drive out to Driffield. Darren had an appointment for his flu jab and we went along for the ride. Tina and I went into Rafters, the veg shop my deliveries come from, while Darren was in Boots. Got some nice veggies and I got some russet apples, need to buy them when you can as they are only available for a short season. Now we will have a starter for ten! Do you know what these are?
We had never seen them before, they are actually dates! I had never given a thought to what data looked like before they were in the boxes at Christmas! After our wander in the shops we drove to the garden centre and had some lunch. Then we browsed in the garden centre. The only thing we bought was four bags of duck food, two that would float and two that would sink. I did take a couple of photos in the garden centre, a horse made of horse shoes and a ridiculously cute planter!
We watched a Bargain Hunt back indoors and then I went for a walk with Tina. We went along the trail after having a drink at the recently opened coffee shop. Then we got to the sea front.I had been goIng into the garden again, but that was enough exercise for the day.
The painter is allegedly arriving tomorrow.๐ค
Always nice to get out for a little trip somewhere. I know you like the veg boxes, and they do always look nice, so I bet it was good to get a bit of “hands on” shopping in there. I’ll be honest and say I had no idea what was in the picture. Like you I only know dates from the boxes you get at Christmas. What’s the verdict. Better or not?
ReplyDeleteYou do spoil the ducks! Although I bet everyone does.
I like the horse and the gnome. I’m surprised the gnome didn’t end up in the car ๐ A nice little trip and not a mention of plants or bulbs coming home with you.
A nice walk along the front is a good way to finish off an already nice day. A nice day weather wise too. We had a fair bit of sun here.
Know your limits, bugger the garden, it’ll still be there tomorrow while you’re waiting for the painter. Good luck with that ๐
The dates are crunchy but fairly bland, not unpleasant. Yu love and learn however old you are!
ReplyDeleteIt has been another nice quite warm when you are out of the wind.
The planter was sooo cute,, the hat was textured like material, but we have enough garden ornaments.
The ducks enjoyed the food although they were getting attacked by the viscous little terns!
