Boot sale and garden

When we were getting ready to go out this morning Darren called me to bring the camera. He has spots three wood pigeons enjoying the sunshine on top of the garden swing!

It was really nice today as Tina joined us at the boot sale. We had the usual breakfast and then a good wander round. We spotted a little table but I said I didn’t need another one but then Tina bought me a large plant,  a ‘mother in laws tongue’. Then I did need the little table which we went back for, it was £3, it may have been part of a nesting set. A picture f the plant and table, and one with the rest of the plants behind.

As we had finished the jigsaw we decided to buy another one as my next subscription one won’t come for a couple of weeks. Tina fancied this one, it will be very tricky I think.

It was a lovely morning so we detoured to the sea front for hot chocolate.
I chatted to Anya as usual the went into the garden to start clearing another bed. I wanted to dig out some brunera plants as they are taking over. The ground was like concrete and when Tina came out she helped get ne out. After lunch I went out again and I did manage to dig out another one, it doesn’t look very big but it was a challenge!
The bed had been full of ground elder and dandelions as well as the brunera and hadn’t been cleared for a few years. A bit better now andi put a few new plants in.
I was ridiculously chewy today, my joints seem to be seizing up on me! So had a shower when I came in. We had a little rain so didn’t have to worry about watering. I had packed the jigsaw away this morning so started sorting out the edges of the fox one. I then realised that it has lots of very odd shaped pieces and also a lot that look like they are edges when they are not! Just a little sample!
Darren came and started the edge with me as Tina was out, and we did not get it finished. A lot of the ones I had picked out as edges were put back in the box and Darren found a few more.
Tina was back quite late so we had Chinese takeaway for tea.

  1. That made a nice change. You all going to the boot sale this morning. It’s a shame you can’t do it more often, but it does clash with her normal Sunday routine 🙂 it looks as though you came back with a few things. I like your new plant and the new table. It’s like a greenhouse at Kew Gardens in your lounge!
The new jigsaw puzzle does look like it will be quite hard, specially with all those odd shaped bits. Although with three of you having a go at it, it still shouldn’t take you too long.
Hot chocolate by the sea, what a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning.
We’ve not had a great deal of rain lately, so I’m not surprised the garden is like concrete. It certainly doesn’t help if you’re trying to dig plants out though. The bed does look a lot better after the usual TLC you give it. It’s just a shame it’s such hard work.
The sea is a good start to the day, and a Chinese is a good end to the day. All in all, not a bad Sunday.

  2. Not a bad day at all except that I am feeling my age or probably older than my age. It was really nice to have Tin come long to the boot sale, and we enjoyed rounding it off be gong to the sea front.
The puzzle looked hard because of the mostly green with so many foxes, without the confusing shapes. But I am sure it will get done, a.though .Tina is going away for four days tomorrow so anew ot be burning the midnight oil doing it,
Very weary so n early night is in order.
