Shoes for sale!!

Before I walked to the studio on this damp grey morning I took photos of a few things to sell on Ebay and got a load of washing on the go.

Sandy was busy at the studio but I didn't do the pots today, painted the black squirrel, then did a bit of corrective work for a couple of customers and helped clear up a bit before walking home.

Sandy thought this squirrel looked a bit scary, wait until it is fired!

I took a photo of the shoes I will sell on Ebay, there have been others I have taken to boot sales. With the sessions with the chiropractor, various supports and gadgets and endless shoes, I wonder home much I have spent to be unsuccessful with my ankle!!

I got a couple of pairs listed and then went into town with Tina, we had arranged to go in earlier. Tina had to get shopping for a church meeting, sort out a work phone for when we move and get some photos printed. We parked on the top floor of the Brunswick car park and I took this picture as we were about to come home..

I have finished  listing for now but may find other things now I am in the mood. The sky was nice earlier, but colourful but attractive anyway.

Holby later, and you never know, may have the urge to do some packing!

Red sky in the morning...........

A very red sky this morning considering the sun is in the other direction. I didn't bring the bad weather that the rhyme implies though!
Tina took me to the hotel before she went to her morning meeting, a couple of people in the pool and by the time I got out quite a lot of children, I had overlooked the fact that it is half term this week.
I took this picture outside the hotel, it looks so dark because the sun was bright and I was facing it!

 I caught an early bus home as another man was coming to estimate the removals and Tina wasn't sure she would get home in time. He came a bit early so good that we had arranged for me to get back and by the time Tina got home he has gone, he didn't hang about.
I went into town again on the bus as I had bought a sweatshirt at the weekend and really like it. Wanted to get a couple more before they ran out of my size. I used to love sweatshirts a few years ago but fashions lately have had skinny arms and they are no good for me. These are roomy like they used to be.
I picked up a recipe card in Peterborough for baked butternut squash and blue cheese risotto. I had got the butternut squash when I did the weekend shopping so thought it was time I used it. Tastes okay, have frozen some portions.

Going to do a bit of packing this evening and then watch a program about Jacqueline Du Pre on catch up as I got the time wrong last night!

Squirrel and amazing mahonia!

I feel like I have been fairly busy today, I packed three boxes and emptied out a cupboard this morning and packed another box after we had had dinner earlier this evening. Late morning I wrapped up, it was dry but a very blustery wind. I walked a little way up Peasholm Drive, passing the park from the higher road, and then through the green area to go down to the glen.

I had taken peanuts with me in the hope of finding hungry squirrels. Fed on on the way down, which meant I got a couple of reasonable photos. They never turn out too well in the glen because it is so shaded and also the squirrels run off because to the children, dogs and pigeons!

I love this beaver carving which has appeared this year.

This foamy water was unusual and made for a different shot.

Must put a mature mahonia shrub on the top of my shopping list for the new garden, lovely to look at and wonderfully scented flowers.

It crossed my mind that I could kidnap the groundsman that have been doing this clearing to help get the new garden under control!

Talking to Donna the other day she said that the shelters I often sit in beside the path in the park used to be aviaries when she was a child!

When I got home I sat for a bit, did get a pair of well padded shoes on this afternoon for about three hours, my ankle was really complaining and they had to come off, but I will try again. After dinner the sky was nice, but no actual sunset.

Auction regular!!

I caught the bus into town as I had a voucher for Debenhams, I used it to get a top that I will probably wear to Tina's licencing. After that I walked to the auction house, Tina had a couple of carpets that she wanted me to bid on and I had seen a couple of planters and a chair. The first auctioneer was no charmer, his favourite phrase was 'it's going if you don't get on with it'! A few people know I have a bit of a problem with dogs, well, more dog owners and the ridiculous amount of dog mess there s on the streets in Scarborough. When Darren and I go to the boot sale, in a field, a lot of people bring the dogs along, and today, a couple of people brought dogs into the sale room. Mini rant over, they weren't any bother.

I took another photo in the sale room, the grand piano you can just see the corner of in the front of the picture was fantastic and sold for £260 which seemed a bargain. The old wooden furniture, which I like, often goes for a song.

I managed to secure one of the carpets for Tina, I missed out on a couple of things but got a lovely little leather 'bedroom chair'. didn't get a picture, but did get one of the small Victorian style bath shaped planter, which I think will look lovely in the small walled garden at the vicarage.

Darren came and we had a cup of tea together, he was going to bid at the office furniture sale. I walked home from the auction house as I had been sitting for a good while and my back was aching as well as my joints! 
I have had a lazy afternoon except for getting dinner for the three of us, and have enjoyed Strictly this evening, and got to vote this week.

Fabulous vicarage, soon to be home!

Tina and I went to Hornsea this morning, for Tina to get the keys and for us to measure up and choose colours for the rooms. All very exciting, and what a fantastic building.

Like a picture postcard! Now the rooms, Tina's office.

There are more shelves next to the door, and plenty of room for a desk and more storage. The two large reception rooms and the kitchen and utility room make up the ground floor.

Darren will have the brick built garage instead of the shed,

Outside, behind the utility room is a great little walled garden and beyond that a park pretending to be a garden!!

I will just show my rooms upstairs, Tina and Darren will have two similar sized rooms and there is a bathroom and separate toilet with shower in. The one that has a bright pink wall at the moment will be my sitting room.

Lot's of measuring and deciding on colours, it will all be different. A lovely day and we had a good journey back. Tina had an afternoon appointment so we stopped for a quick lunch at The Mere.

Then Tina dropped me off at Sainsbury's where I got the weekend shopping and then got a taxi home.
This evening the three of us went along to look at the auction lots as they had some nice rugs and curtains. Also some office furniture, so desks and chairs a plenty.
After that it was getting late, so we had dinner at the carvery at Scalby Manor. So a busy day, but all very exciting.

Squirrel number 2

This morning I went into town on the bus, Tina had a package that needing sending today and I wanted to go to the Clarks shop to see if they could order me a pair of the full mules in the right size. I had tried several places on line and they only has them in size 3. Got the same result at the shop, they said there were none in stock. I did go into CushionFlex, the lady in there is very helpful and although they don't have any full mules she said they have had them in the past, so took my name and number in case they bring some in again. After that I walked to the studio, Donna was on her own today so we had a good natter and then I got on with the second squirrel and she painted a commission. At least this time you can tell the squirrel has been painted.

I walked back slowly, the ankle seemed a little easier today, but that isn't necessarily a sign that it will be okay tomorrow. It started to rain lightly before I got home, the full rain and mist arrived this afternoon as predicted.

I picked up another origami book, supposedly aimed at children, so thought it would be easier to follow. I was trying to make a cube and even called Tina, my mathematical genius, to help me out. Gave up, maybe I will try again. This was one of the harder, if not the hardest thing in the book.

So I had a go at some of the easier projects to get myself 'in the zone!'

Apart from that I sorted through the earrings - again, and got some other stuff put on one side for the table top sale.
Off to Hornsea in the morning to check out the vicarage, step and tape measure at the ready!

Lovely bays

This morning I showed another removal man round before catching the bus into town, I had a package to send and needed a bit of food shopping. After the post office I walked down to near The Grand and the south bay was misty and very lovely.

I got a bit of shopping in M & S and then got the bus home. I had some lunch and then went over to the Bowls Centre as they were advertising a table top sale on the 29th October and Darren and I thought it might be worth have a table. They had some tables left so I have booked us in. The centre is near the cliff top so went to have a look at the north bay as well. Not so blue, but nice skies.

The foam and water patterns were fascinating, well, to me anyway, I watched the sea for quite a while.

The shop with the raffia pumpkins is near M & S and I just had to call in and buy one today, I think they are so unusual.

Tina and I got in at about the same time and the cats came in too. When I went in the bedroom Blue was on Charlie's chair, no surprise there, I didn't notice Charlie at first but then spotted him on the place next to my sink where I put my washing up!!

He is a strange cat, didn't tackle Blue, just found somewhere else to settle.
I have been sorting through paper work and all the notelets and cards that have accumulated. I have also been looking up winter mules without a lot of success so far.
