Great sky tonight. I will actually post this tomorrow when I will hopefully have Silverstone pictures. The clouds were great early evening.
Then the rays coming through.

Getting later.......

Later still.
And lastly, all change!
Saving this for now, will add some pics tomorrow hopefully.
Today we left home before 8 am for the long journey to Silverstone. Darren and Tina shared the driving and we had one stop. We arrived about midday and the traffic wasn't too bad and we parked reasonably near to the stand. Very windy and quite chilly up in the stand, but out seats are in the third row and you can see quite a lot of the track.

That big screen right in front of the stand means you can see all of the action when the cars are on the other side of the track. The cars pass by so fast, I did manage to get some pictures that weren't just track though!
I don't think they were Formula 1 cars, those are on the other camera. I will change the card and add one.
Darren reliably tells me this was a McClaren.
A good day and more excitement to come tomorrow with the Qualifying rounds.

One sky picture from last night.

This morning we got all three cats into carriers and Tina and I took them along to the cattery for their 'holiday'. Lovely couple run the cattery and the pens are clean and well equipped, all three of them are in a pen together, we will collect them on Monday.
We stopped at The Mere and had a cuppa and sausage sandwich and then went and did quite a bit shop at Sainsbury's. Snack and easy food for the weekend so that we don't spend a fortune on food at the race.
I have finished off the puzzle, well, two pieces missing and one piece that didn't belong to it, but I still enjoyed it. May throw it away rather than sell it on though.
Have spent the afternoon pottering, packing and watching tennis. We got the crutches out of the cupboard as I am taking them along as the ankle is still pretty bad. Today some wide sandals I ordered, with a bit of a heel arrived, and they seem to be a bit easier on the ankle than the ones I usually wear, so will use them but take the others along in case they get uncomfortable.
Darren was going out this afternoon and collected the fairy from the studio for me. She has turned out really well and her skin is a pretty good colour considering I had to cover the orange it had been painted.

Darren saw the snail all fired and finished, he seems to be really impressed with it. I will get to see it on Tuesday as Sandy has displayed it in the window for now.
We are pretty much packed and sorted. Darren has gone off to his gaming club and Tina and I are taking it easy, as it will be a tiring weekend I am sure.

I phoned the doctor this morning to try and get an appointment, but no spaces available today. They had an appointment on Friday 21 st so I said not to bother. The ankle is still not feeling great and I had hoped all would be well by the time we were off to the F1 race. I spent the morning indoors and carried on with the jigsaw for a bit. Have done all of the sky which is probably the hardest part sorted.
I watched the first set of the Murray tennis match so left with him a set up. I went out but only to the Coffee Bean cafe as there was a craft and mindfulness group meeting which included an afternoon tea. Just a handful of people and Sarah, who runs it was very nice and welcoming. It was a little uncomfortable to start with as I am never completely comfortable in a room with strangers, but it was okay. I had thought there would be a theme but there are materials and you just do what you fancy. She had a lot of natural materials there, but as I had nothing planned I got a twig of dying leaves, drew them in charcoal for and then did a few more sketches in pencil, filling the page.
So, not a lot to write today, sitting here 'on ice' at the moment.
They are really dropping like flies at Wimbledon this year!

Tina dropped me off at the hotel this morning and I enjoyed half an hour in the pool, on my own today which is great. I wanted to buy some crystallised ginger so did that after leaving then made my way straight to the bus stop. My ankle didn't seem too bad then but I have stayed in and iced and taken the pills as suggested. A pity  that it has started to hurt even more this afternoon, not sure where it is going, but not up at the moment it would seem. I usually get one sort of ginger but they had some more, darker looking, which has been crytallised with raw cane sugar, boy, is it hot!
I have been watching tennis, so not a bad afternoon, I got one of the puzzles out so that I had something else to occupy me.
This was after I had done the edges, I am actually a bit further along with it now.
Darren and Tina came up for a while when Jo Konta was playing her quarter final and Darren sat on 'Blues Chair', one way of getting this little cat onto your lap!
It has drizzled a lot of the day but is a bit brighter now, so some blue sky, the wind is up as you can see from one of these pictures.

Holby later and a new drama called In The Dark I think.

I will start with a couple of pictures of me that Anya took last night. We really enjoyed the concert and the weather was kind.

One more of the stage while Olly was performing.
The rush when leaving, we stayed seated until it was a little less crowded.
We ambled back through the park.
This morning Blue was on her usual place, on the pink chair, when Colonel came up and tried to wheedle her off! No chance, but it was cute when she started to give the 'old man' a wash!
Persuaded Anya to don one of the shirts and a mask, looks pretty good!
Anya and I watched a film from the Marilyn Monroe collection called 'We're Not Married', a old black and white comedy which we both enjoyed. The four of us went up and had a meal at The North Bay cafe and Anya got packed up when we came back. Darren took us to the station so that we could see her onto the train. A short but really great visit.
They say we have storms heading this way and from the look of the sky that could be right!

More tennis and icing now.......

A couple of pictures from last night, one sky.
And one of Darren with his newly purchased bow.
This morning Darren and I went along to the boot sale as usual. My ankle was quite sore so I only walked around for about 15 minutes after we had eaten our sausage baps. but got a set of Marilyn Monroe films and a pair of earrings so that was good, and Darren got the bargain of the day, a really nice belt to hang his archery quiver on.
We went and collected Anya from the station this afternoon and she and I had a good chat and then we all had a meal together before Anya and I went off to the Olly Murs concert. The queue to get in was unbelievable, in fact all the way to the shops by the beach. Will just post a couple of pics tonight and sort through them and put more on tomorrow. The two of us getting ready to party!
The crowd a bit later, full to capacity, over 7000.
Just one of Olly, didn't have the bigger camera but you can tell who it is I think.
It was a great show, he was on for an hour and a half and is a great entertainer.

Saturday, 8 July 2017

I am trying to be good and give the ankle some proper rest, so have stayed in all day today. The reason this post is getting written earlier than usual, it has seemed a long day, and the weather outside has been very inviting! One more picture of the sky from last night.
Anya is coming up for the Olly concert tomorrow so I am hoping she will take the masks and tee shirts back with her. I had bought the spray varnish but not actually treated the masks so did them this morning. Very strong smell of varnish in the house, but the window was open and it soon wore off. Took selfies of myself wearing them, maybe I will get Anya to wear a mask and a tee shirt tomorrow.

I have done a bit of tidying and enjoyed using my Gtec cleaners. Have had the tennis on but thought I would draw another couple of butterflies from the book.
Then, as I had the pencils out thought I would try and draw the plant that I bought at Deans on Thursday.
I got a lovely thank you note from my sister's grand-daughter saying how much she loved the picture of the tree house, that was good to hear, she says she is going to take it along to the wedding and have it on display.
I have been doing the ice treatments today, will sit with the ice packs again soon, have been taking the pills regularly as well. I haven't been out at all today so it is hard to tell if it has made much difference, but it can't be doing any harm so worth a try.
Looking out of the window a little while ago it looked like there was a Christmas tree on the street. Just the way the sun was catching a bush, it is all dark out there now but it did look great.
Bit grey because I was taking the picture in the direction of the sun, but you get the idea.
