Oops

Yesterday evening when was going to take the garden bins out when I heard a different bird singing, so got my phone out to find out what was singing. A song thrush which was lovely. I was on the porch and concentrating on the phone I missed my footing and really jarred my ankle on the step. It was a really sharp pain but I hoped it would be okay. I cut down a compression sock and put it on when I went to bed.

I was supposed to be catching the 7.30 am train into Edinburgh with Tina, but it was obvious I wasn’t going to be doing that as the ankle was very painful. I haven’t felt too bright for a couple of days nd actually went to bed for the morning today. It has been raining here on and off all day but Tina sent a picture when she arrived in Edinburgh.

I did make it into the garden to take the photo of the two saplings now in bonsai dishes.
Tina had worked on the jigsaw yesterday evening and I did do some this afternoon.
I put my backless garden shoes onto go and collect one bin and put another one out. That was about as much walking I could manage as the ankle is still very sore. I won’t be able to go to Pitlochry tomorrow for my Covid jab as I don’t think I could get proper shoes on and it would involve quite a bit of walking.
Tina sent another picture from the train on her way home. She had good day at her course and she brought me some chocolate!

  1. It’s so easy done twisting an ankle like that. Plus I think if you do it once it weakens the ankle making you prone to doing again in the future. It’s also damn painful, so you have my sympathies. Isn’t it typical that you do things like that when you have made plans to do things. All you do is take easy and carefully and wait for it to heal itself. You must have felt quite low today as going to bed for the morning isn’t like you at all. But it does you good occasionally.
Blimey, it did look beautiful weather in Edinburgh this morning. Glad to hear Tina had a good day. Very thoughtful of her to bring the invalid chocolate as well 😊
The bonsai are looking good. Are they the plastic pots you bought? They look quite good.
The jigsaw is definitely a stinker. I’m guessing there have been a lot of combined hours gone into it up to now, and there’s a fair way to go yet!
It’s not worth struggling tomorrow just to get your jab. You’ll be able to rebook it for a later, I hope.
I hope when you wake up in the morning it’s feeling a bit better.

  2. Yes, they are the plastic pots but very good quality and they look good.
I got rid of so many bonsai pots when we were moving little thinking I would start starting more! The ceramic ones are very expensive. Maybe we will find some at a boot sale when Darren gets up here.
The ankle is weak, I sprained it several times when I was a teenager but have managed to avoid problems for a while.
Hopefully the ankle will heal before too long, I still want to get into Edinburgh before I travel south.
