Walking and sketching

I decided to walk to the Hermitage again today, this time I knew roughly where I was going and the pavements weren’t icy, so I got there a bit quicker! Took some photos on the way it was a chilly but bright morning.

I sat down for a few minutes on a bench in the car before walking up to Ossians hall. Took this photo, thankfully didn’t have to go up those steps!
I only took a few photos of the falls, then I went to a bench where I did a sketch, looking back t the hall and the bridge.

I was truly exhausted when I got home, really need to get fitter! Had a very quiet afternoon, sat with Pandora for a while and wrote a couple of letters. Still feeling quite tired so won’t be doing much this evening either!

  1. Wow, great pics tonight! I love the first one. I’d definitely have that framed. I’m so envious of all the beautiful scenery. But I’ll make the best of seeing it through pics and sketches 😊 When I saw the pic of the steps I did raise an eyebrow as I assumed you’d walked up them! Then I read the text.
It must be nice next to the falls. I would definitely enjoy the sound of them.
Another great sketch. Many more to come I think.
I’m not at all you were exhausted. I would have been too with all the walking, especially up hill!
You’ve done plenty during the day, so I think you’re entitled to a quiet evening 😊

  2. The light was just perfect when I took the first picture, it is where you walk under the A9, a very pretty underpass!
When I started the sketch I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew, quite a lot going on and just picking out what you need was good practice.
Definitely need to get my legs hill and rough terrain ready to make the most of the surroundings.
