This morning I pottered in the house, refreshed the water in the posy which is still looking pretty and moved a couple of small pictures to hang on white photos of birds up, then hung the others again. Photos of the posy, one of the one I wanted to hang and a few of my sitting room which is almost there!
The one on the floor at the bottom of the last photo hasn’t got a home!
Tina had a lunch appointment in Aberfeldy today so she dropped me off I. The town to have a look round and was going to pick me up at the same place in a couple of hours. I had lunch in a nice little cafe we had gone in the other time we went to Aberfeldy. Then I went for a walk and happened upon The Birks.
Quite an enchanting place to walk through. These stones had a poem on.
The seats in the wall round the statue also had verses on. I tried to do a sketch from the other side which is not great but should put them all on regardless!
Tina picked me up as arranged. Just before we had left flowers in a box arrived, which Tina had sent for. I got them out and into a vase as soon as we got home. The ones that are drooping a bit in the photo have already perked up.
We had a light tea and I will write a couple of letters this evening and maybe a bit of patchwork.

The posy is doing very well, and now you have the sketch you’ll remember it when it’s gone. Your sitting room is looking really nice. Very homely.
ReplyDeleteThey do have some nice town names up there. Aberfeldy just sounds a nice place. The Birks does look a great place to walk if the pics are anything to go by. I really like the verses carved into the stones. That’s a really good idea. I think the sketch is ok. If I’d have done it I’d be happy with it π It just looks slightly unfinished to me, but I’m definitely no art critic.
It amazes me how well the boxed flowers do. Considering how they’re squashed into a box to fit through a letterbox they perk up and look great very quickly. That was nice of Tina.
Enjoy your evening of writing and sewing π
The Birks was very pretty and well thought out. Quite a few benches as well, some school kids were sitting there having some lunch. The town is quaint as well so it was a nice couple of hours.
ReplyDeleteThe sketch is definitely unfinished and that is how it will remain π
The flowers are lovely so it is very floral in here at the moment.
I have done the letter writing, not sure I will get the patchwork out.
