At the Hermitage with Darren

This morning Darren drove me up to the Hermitage, he hadn’t been there before and enjoyed his first visit. We walked up to Ossians hall and took a selfie from the viewing point, then had a wander to the bridge and by the river. I took photos with the trees covered in moss! It is quite something.

We found some different benches that I could do some sketching from, then we walked back to the car park nd had a drink of hot chocolate and a delicious donut! When we got home Drren got on with getting his stuff together and I began to sort lunch. Tina was home in good time ns we had lunch then Seeen set off soon after one. He is home safely now, he got there before eight.
I did do some gardening this afternoon but no photos as it is will be even more boring that it was in Hornsea! Yesterday evening and this afternoon I started using some of the material I bought yesterday to do some patchwork. I have done two ‘flowers’ and this evening have cut out some more pieces to get onto card and sew some more,

Watching Roman Holiday now, pair of my favourite actors, so a nice way to spend the evening,

  1. It’s nice you got a little trip out with Darren. It is lovely up there by the waterfall. Not somewhere I foresee you getting bored with in a hurry. Plus if you’ve found more benches to sketch from that’s even more reason to go. The trees do look a bit odd covered in moss like that. Must be a bit damp there. Hot chocolate and a donut sounds a really nice way to finish a little trip off with. It sort of balances out the calories you lost walking 😊
Glad to hear Darren is home safely. I bet he’ll be knackered for work tomorrow after all the driving.
What is the patchwork going to end up as, or haven’t you decided yet?
Everyone likes Audrey Hepburn, and Gregory Peck is a great actor too. As you say, a nice way to spend your evening.

  2. It was a lovely trip to the Hermitage and good for Darren to get to see it. He seems to be managing the driving pretty well. He isn’t coming up for three weeks now, so we will see him again after Easter.
I may make a cushion comer with the patchwork but at the moment I am just enjoying a bit of hand sewing, haven’t done patchwork in a while.
