This morning I did go out in the garden for a short time, I put some plants into the Victorian planter and then made a small start on the ground elder under the bushes.
This pile of root was literally just from the corner! Do you think this is a battle I might not win?
Tina and I walked up to Dunkeld as there was craft sale in the Drill Hall. We had a good look round and all I bought was a card, although I was tempted by some beautiful framed photographs!Tina suggested we walk back along the river, it was a lovely day but a very cold wind.
That photo is next to the large sycamore next to the Birnam Oak. The next two are of the oak, Tina is under one of the branches, and I am inside it, we hadn’t been at the back of the tree before.
One was started with an HB pencil for the base, one with grated graphite and one with grated charcoal.
Family call when I got home, then tea, and now feet up time without a cat at the moment.

I’m sure you’ll win the battle with the ground elder. You don’t like being beaten and don’t often start a job you don’t finish ๐
ReplyDeleteYou’d did very well going to a craft sale and only buying a card! I do like craft sales, but there are too many temptations!
It is beautiful by that river. The trees are amazing and so large. You don’t realise until you see people under them or in them ๐ A nice little beach too. I’d happily walk along there instead of my usual walk into town.
The drawings you did are very good. It’s not easy to view them properly on here, but I bet they look great on paper. It amazes me what you can produce just by using shading. Are there any other classes there you might fancy?
Hopefully the cat will be happy spending time with you now and leave you in peace later when you’re trying to sleep!
Weather permitting I will be in the garden tomorrow, may stick with it for a bit longer as I need somewhere to put the plants I have left!
ReplyDeleteThe craft sale had a good variety of stuff, bout we were both very self contained!
The walk back was enjoyable and we discovered new places and the fact that the Birnam Oak is hollow!
The class was enjoyable, I would go to one of her classes again. If I want to practice what we learnt I need to buy some extra bits!
Clocks go forward tonight,so and extra early night I think.
Wow thats an interesting tree you’ve got inside , hope it was a good day xx
