Healthy eyes!

I had an appointment in Beverley for an eye check up so caught the bus just after 9.30am. I did a bit of shopping before I went to Specsavers as I had a bit of time. I had the preliminary tests almost as soon as I was through the door and didn’t wait long to see the optician after that. More health checks which he explained thoroughly after he had tested my vision. It seems that my eyes are in pretty good shape and my vision prescription had hardly changed, so no new glasses required. I went for a drink and then called in at Vodafone to see about roving charges, had a couple of nice young men playing with my phone and explaining things! Although there was no rush to get home I didn’t feel like hanging around so went to the bus station. I was going to sleep on both bus journeys and was achey as well as tired today!

Took a photo of the chrysanthemum and managed not to take a video by mistake!

I was feeling a bit sick when I got home so took some indigestion tablets and sat quietly for a bit. Then I got a package ready and walked to the post office, coming back via the sea.
I walked back through the memorial gardens, the popular name for this flower is’hotlips’.
A bit of autumn colour.
No surprise that I had company then as I had been out most of the day.
I finished another section of the puzzle while my tea was cooking.

Will finish with a photo from Tina taken not far from where she is staying with the nuns.

  1. Not needing new glasses is very good. I normally need new ones each time I go. I’m obviously not growing old as gracefully as you are 😊 At least you had a bit of an outing today instead of painter sitting. You probably know more about your phone than the young men. You’re pretty good with technology.
The chrysanthemum is really nice. You got there in the end, and I’m sure the video looked ok 😊
I think feeling queasy is one of the worst things. If you’ve got a bad leg at least you usually know why, but feeling sick could be lots of things. You hadn’t been eating any iffy prawns I hope? 🦐 It definitely looks fresh at the front today. I’m sure that walk woke you up a bit. All that sea air does you good……or so they say. It appears you were the only person around sampling it. Pandora looks happy that you finally came home for good.
A flower called hotlips, that’s unusual. It makes me think of the old tv program MASH. One of the characters was called Hotlips Houlihan! 🙂
I like the autumn colour pic. You’ll see a few more colours when you go over the pond.
I like how you have almost a perfect square left of the puzzle. Was that deliberate or just a coincidence?
Tina’s picture took me a few seconds to work out. I didn’t see it as a bear with binoculars straight away 😂

  2. It was a good eye check, the guy showed me the scans and pointed out the relevant bits so I could understand!
I used to watch MASH occasionally, it is still on some channels now.
I have Pandora on my lap again, then she’ll come and sit on me in bed!
That puzzle has letters on the back so you can do a section at a time if you want to!
