An easy day

I went to the shop after the gardeners had arrived. I told them that Tina had done some clearing and that I had strimmed it a bit yesterday so they should be able mow nearer to the gate. I went across to Number Nine and spent a pleasant hour with Haley having a natter and cuppa, it was a miserable morning so the shop wasn’t busy.

I have had a couple of spells trying to do some jigsaw. There is progress, but very slow progress!

After lunch I went out to see how the lawn guys had got on and they had mowed up to the gate so I though

I would do a bit more clearing before Tina comes home. Next doors cat soon moved when I approached with tools! I don’t really know why we bothered, the gate is too big for me to take a photo over the top but I took one through the slit. Obviously the volunteers in the parish hall garden don’t clear that area!

After that I cleared up the rest of the debris left by the no show contractors, but nothing too strenuous.
Will be another easy day tomorrow as it is visit day. Will finish with a picture of the Michaelmas daisies which have started to open. They always remind me of wearing them at primary school as we walked to St Michael’s church on his saint day.

  1. At least the gardeners turned up on time and managed to do a good job. It’s a shame the other chaps weren’t as good.
The jigsaw is definitely very slow progress, which is not like you at all. You normally manage to get through them quite quickly.
It certainly looks like you wasted your time getting the gate clear. It certainly doesn’t look like anything is been done on the other side at all. Was the idea to be able to open the gate and use it? Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, any time soon!
Another easy day tomorrow sounds a very good plan. You should definitely have more easy days than hard days 😊

  2. Getting lazy with these quieter days, my joints will probably seize up completely!
The idea was to be able to use the gate, although to be honest I have no idea why it is so big. But the parish garden was sort of an extension of out garden before it was make into the eco garden by volunteers.
The chaos that mow the lawns have really been dong a good job lately, I think they can see that I do my best to keep it going and want to be helpful.
