Tree surgeons were busy!

I haven’t been out today except for in the garden, not a good knee day today and had a bit of a nasty spasm with it in the night. The tree lads were here early and have removed one dead and one split tree and pruned the two apple trees back. Also a laurel hedge needed attention along the fence, I used to hang the bird feeders on one of the apple trees, no longer an option, so Tina help me by getting the old swing frame down and I am utilising that!
The other apple tree was a big sprawling thing, I had no idea that wall behind went up so high!
The laurel looks much tidier now nd that stump was where the dead ash tree was.
One of the laburnum trees had split so that was remove, will be much better light for those plants now, you couldn’t see that section of wall before.
I made up a soup kit that we bought from the shop over the road before it closed down. Fed the cakes, probably one or two more now and ai can think about the marzipan! Decided to try and get the white area round the kingfisher done, then pink flowers. It is proving to be a challenging puzzle and the pieces don’t hold together too well.
Sher called in to see me after work for a quick visit, which was lovely. She is very busy with the two shops and organising the Hornsea collective.
It will probably be another quiet day tomorrow.

  1. A good day to be home with all those men in the garden 😊 A fair bit done by them. It’s amazing the things you notice once trees and bushes are removed or trimmed. It’s like having a new garden. Shame you lost your bird feeding branch, but the old frame was a good idea and gives it a new life. You need to plant a creeper so it grows over it. That wall does look rather high. I wouldn’t walk too close to it when it’s windy!
Soup kit sounds interesting, did it taste good?
My two favourite words, “cakes” and “marzipan” πŸ˜‚ Not much longer to wait now.
I thought the jigsaw looked a bit hard, but seeing it in closeup I now think it’s even harder! Good luck with that.
It was nice of Sher to pop in and see you. Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can get to the shop again for a cuppa 😊
Another easy day will probably do you good tomorrow. Although your idea of a quiet day probably involves doing more than the average person does 😊

  2. The lads that do the tree work and very polite and leave no mess. The main man, Martin wasn’t with then today, it was his son and two other trainee tree surgeons. When they come to work on the two large trees he will be there with them.
The frame makes a decent bird feeding area, and good to reuse it rather than dump it.
The puzzle will certainly keep me well occupied for a while.
