Rushden Lakes and Cuckoo Inn
A lovely day catching up with the family over from America. It is getting late and will let the photos do the talking. The first one out of the bedroom window promising good weather, then a few from Rushden Lakes and the final one a group shot after out meal.

A lovely day
Not a great night, but I did take those pics in the early hours!

Skip dropped me off in town and I had a bit of a wander before meeting Rose for lunch. I walked to the end of Cowgate as I had noticed fantastic wall painting on the drive into the city,
In Queensgate there wa probably the smallest carousel in the world!
Some more will art in Queensgate near the bus station.
Had a very enjoyable lunch with Rose! Lots of catching up and quite a lot of laughter, then she went off to meet a friend and I walked up to the care home to visit Margherita. We had a lovely afternoon and found plenty to chat about. She was in good spirits and seems very happy. I then walked back to the bus station, so plenty of steps today! I took a photo of this sign on the way as I do like clever names and signs.
I had a cuppa when I got off the bus before dong the last walk back to Rachel’s. I had changed bags before I went out and didn’t take my keys. The family were all at poppi’s birthday party so I couldn’t get in. Sat on the recycling bin (the small one!) and rI Ed for about forty minutes before they got home!
Have been in the hot tub this evening so quite hot nd bothered now!
Skip sent me this picture of some more great graffiti and a couple of pics from the birthday party.
Seeing the American branch of the family tomorrow.

Travel day
I left home at seven to get to the bus stop. The bus didn’t unsettle my leg today which was a good start. First train was fine and I had about an hour in Doncaster. The second train set off okay but twenty minutes in we stopped , and that was the first of four stops! A freight train had broken down would of Peterborough and trains were backing up. We were kept fully informed and just had to sit it out. I took two pics in Frenchgate before catching the train and then a few at the stops when they were nice views.

Ended up being on the second train for two hours rather than fifty minutes! But have already been told I can get a refund and it has been agreed!
Skip came to the station to collect me and after a short chat with Rachel she went back to work and I had a short walk to Itter Park.
A visit from Poppi, Rachel’s first grandchild so will finish with two pics.

Getting ready to try a trip
The nights ar getting any better so I managed to get a doctors appointment this morning, a trainee doctor with another observing, she was very thorough and listened to my concerns. I have some stronger medication in the hope that I can have some better nights and she has organised a blood test and will arrange mother X-ray. Walked back via the sea, did stop for a drink as I wasn’t feeling too good.

I started getting things sorted for the trip tomorrow. Tina’s friend who is not very well wA coming to Hornsea with a couple of friends and we met them for a bit of lunch. When I took some stuff up the garden bin I noticed some roses. The first picture was taken blind as it was quite high!
Finished packing then sat for a while.
I did go into the garden and planted a few left over plants into the sunflower bed, not that we actually have any sunflowers this year! Took a photo of this foxglove as I have never had one with so many flowering shoots.
I had a bath and now just taking it easy and hoping the medication may help.
Catching the bus just after seven in the morning,

Dragon light painted
Not a good night with the leg, but it eased a bit walking up to Freeport. I stayed quite a while today as Tina was hoping to get away for a bit and meet me in the afternoon. I hadn’t really planned to finish the dragon light today, but as I stayed longer it is finished. I am looking forward to seeing it when fired.

Caroline, who has the pottery studio, also runs Our Green Apple. I am showing a picture of her award and if anyone wants to try her products I can get some to you. We are using the soap and hand cream and they are very good,
Tina came about 3.15pm and we went for a very late lunch then we walked along to the bank and shops.
I have fed the birds and may water the bonsai trees in a bit but not much else planned,

Great evening trip
This morning I popped out a few times, early to catch the only post collection, then a bit later to go and get some salad stuff. Realised I had forgotten something so out to the shop again. I got two beautiful roses for a pound, had thought I may draw them but the day changed a bit.

This afternoon I actually sat on the swing and enjoyed the garden, read my book for a bit.
I got our usual tea and Tina asked if ai fancied a drive out this evening. She took me to Barton Upon Humber to the viewing point for the bridge but from the other side of the river. Lots of photos from a different angle.
That curve isn’t so obvious from the other side.
After that we drove to South Ferriby lock. The lock was actually under a road.
Then a nice drive home.
Pottery painting tomorrow.
