More mini flowers

My Mothers Day flowers are still so pretty and the irises are opening now and are beautiful.

I managed a short walk to see Sher is Botany Boutique, have to admit at the moment I wouldn’t be able to walk much further confidently. We had a cuppa and she got biscuits too. I took some the the cuttings I have rooted for her to use in terrariums as she sells quite a lot. Also took the miniature plants for her to see, she finds the idea of the greenhouse an impossible task, so her reactions to the items can be quite funny!

I have had to sessions making more items for the greenhouse, before and after dinner.  I will not bore you with the before pictures, one of each set and then all of them together as quite an impressive collection today.

I did go in the garden , well the greenhouse, as I had 20k of peanuts to put in containers!

I managed to get through to the surgery and have an appointment to see the physio there on Thursday.

I haven’t got many more plants to make for the miniature greenhouse, the end is beginning to come into sight!

Still no walking!

I did try sleeping in the bed last night but after a couple of hours I went down to the recliner. The knee is still painful but I haven’t had it try to give out on me today. Did some light chores and washing but a lot of the day has been taken up with more and more fiddly plants for the miniature greenhouse.

I will put a couple of ‘befores’ and some finished items. A couple of the had me swearing but not quite screaming at them!

I am almost half way through the instruction book, but sadly there are a lot more plants, and a lot of them have flowers!, M aubergine my leg will miraculously recover and I can go for a long walk tomorrow!

Mothering Sunday

I slept on the recliner last night and that was okay. The leg seemed a little less painful today but haven’t been on it a great deal. I did go to the boot sale with Darren and we had our usual breakfast toastie the started to look round. I did a couple of rows but the knee was aching so got the key from 

Darren and went and sat in the car while he finished looking around. I did manage to get a brand new iPad case for a pound.

Darren had an archery competition at Burton Constable today and I had been going to go with him but as the leg was painful I decided to stay at home. Tina was working so I decided to get on with some of the greenhouse pieces. I started with a hanging plant!

Then I started to prepare some plants that involved sticking paper leaves on to green wire for starters. Believe me, it was enough to test anyones patience! But I persevered and got three assembled.

I went into the garden to turn the Bird Buddy off and put it in the store and took a picture of actual plants while I was there!

I watched the Grand Prix with Darren and Tina and then Tina cooked a really lovely Mothers Day dinner for me.

I finished off the last, and tiniest of the plants for the greenhouse and then packed it away.

Watching ‘Grace’ now and will try sleeping in the bed tonight.

Enforced rest, bring on the craft!

The leg has taken a turn for the worse and I ended up on the recliner in the early hours then could beardy weight bear when I got up! So plenty of pills nd not too much walking today. So rather than dwell on the leg thought I would carry on with the miniature greenhouse accessories. To say the plants are fiddly would be an understatement, but onward and upward and I do have a lot of patience! Stages of the first one.

Some lovely flowers arrived from Anya and family, sticks in there so it smells lovely in here.

The next plant involved folding tiny pieces of paper with times to make fans, it almost didn’t happen!

Thought it would be interesting to put pictures of what I have made for the greenhouse so far, seems a fair bit when you have it all together.

Slippery road?

This morning June and Jean came to the house early as they wanted some cuttings from the bay tree to use in posies for Mothering Sunday. My leg has been troublesome for a while now and as I stretched up had a sharp pain and thought the knee was going to give out. Have used a knee support for the rest of the day and that has helped, but definitely not a happy knee, fingers crossed not the start of a very slippery road! A very pretty tulip is brightening the front garden!

Bel came round on her buggy today, quite a while since she came to me. We had a good chat, she was happy to be out as she has been poorly for a while.

After lunch I thought I would do a bit to the miniature greenhouse. I couldn’t find the blue plastic cocktail stick which was going to be transformed into a paintbrush and pencils! I took a slow walk to Countdown and Boyes, very slowly I may add, but no joy, so moved on and the next challenges was flower pots. They were very fiddly and the instructions are less than clear, but I have made them. Pictures of the pieces and the pots!

This evening I am enjoying Comic Relief and have company.

It’s behind you!!

A fairly quiet morning some chores and some crosswords and finished the book ‘Grief is The Thing With Feathers’, which is the weirdest thing I have ever read! The jury is out on my real feelings about it.

After lunch I did go for a walk, just down to the sea, it wasn’t a particularly nice day, but despite the on going discomfort with the knee I know I have to keep it moving or it will seize up completely! The first picture reflects the heading today!

On benches at the front and in the memorial gardens there were flowers, I am presuming it is because we are nearing Mothering Sunday.

It is being quite colourful in the memorial gardens although the flowers are quite well spread out.

I enjoyed The Piano and was interested in Mika and Lang Lang as I have never heard anything by either of them so ordered cheap cds of each. The Mika one arrived today and I really like it.

This evening I have been playing with green pens, any other words I can use would be much appreciated!

Just one visit tomorrow, or maybe Bel will come here if the weather is kind.

You beauty!

I am going to start with my elderly and leggy poinsettia, not over five years old but not ready to give up the ghost just yet! I really cannot believe that after all this time it is producing red leaves, there will be more photos if they continue to get bigger!

This morning I spent some time with Father Nicholas and then helped get the pans of soup round to the village hall as they were having a lunch after the midweek service. Then I caught the bus into Hull. I just got some toiletries that I needed and went and had a bit of lunch. Great sign in the cafe, made me smile anyway,

Tina and I had talked about the Bored of Lunch slow cooker book and thought it would be good to get the one he has written for the air fryer. I went into Waterstones on my way back to the bus station and they had it as there half price offer, that was meant to be!

When I got home went with Tina to collect the pans and bits from the parish hall, apparently the soup went down well, I was pleased as I am not a confident soup maker!

Quite achey tonight so sitting quietly and listening the the cd Tina got at the weekend. Looking forward to the finale of The Piano this evening.
