Just one visit today

On my way to visit Bel I saw the lady who runs the charity shop and she was really in the Halloween spirit!

Bel was fine. She had fallen for a telephone scam this week but her neighbour realised and got a bank transaction for a considerable amount stopped. She has no family but fantastic neighbours.
Had a drink with Tina when I  got home and then she went out for lunch and I went to catch up with Sher who had been poorly yesterday.
My Christmas cactus is flowering on the landing, overhanging the stairs as is my fern.

The man from the diocese came thin afternoon to check we were happy with the windows and to have yet another look at the outhouses!  We won’t be holding our breath!
From the windows I could see a splash of yellow at the bottom of the garden so I went to investigate and it was the hosta dying off!

I haven’t taken a picture of my veggie boxes for a while, but thought I would today, very tasty looking as always.
So another fairly quiet day, maybe I will feel energetic tomorrow.

A new app

Another reasonably quiet day but Tina started using an app to sell your unwanted books, it required scanning bar codes, not something I do. But I downloaded the iPad app and I actually managed to get some scanned and they are ready to be taken to the drop off place. They buy cds and dvds as well so may have another go!

After Ringtons had been Tina and I went out for lunch at Mappleton which was very nice.

When we went out I spotted this plant had grown in the gravel along with other weeds, very delicate.

I went out to check the bird baths and the plants in the greenhouse. The bath tub plants are still beautiful.

I don’t remember this tree going brown before, it still looks attractive but I hope it doesn’t men it is dead!
When iwas looking for books I found this leaf that I had pressed. That is a £2 coin!

Will finish with my pretty little bracelet that Isobel made with beads that I bought her.

A quiet day

I haven’t been too energetic today, recovering from the travelling. I did get along to the backing hub and took a couple of bags of stuff to the charity shop. I had put some stuff by to sell at a boot sale, but the season is almost over and the boot sale likely to stop at the end of this year. The site has been bought by a company who want to develop the caravan site.So I have decided to get it all to the charity shop as it is in the way.

I did go to get some shopping for dinner and popped along for a quick chat with Sher. The arch by the church has been decorated for Remembrance Day.

The chrysanthemum is the front garden is in full bloom now.
I had a very frustrating time trying to sell something on eBay, it is years since I used it and it is very different, allegedly easier, but I gave up in the end!
Traitors later, which is good.

A loooooong drive!

I took a photo of Archie, Tim’s adorable dog before we left this morning.

We set off just after nine and got home just after six this evening. A very long day. Took some photos along the way, including the Forth bridge. That will be it for tonight as I am shattered.

Queens view

We drove to ‘Queens view’ about five miles from Pitlochry which was worth the drive of very narrow and bendy roads.

We had never seen trees with so much lichen.

Then we stopped at Garry’s Bridge on the way back.

That’s all for now, the long journey home tomorrow so probably no photos!

Birnam and Pitlochry dam

We had a nice evening with Tina’s aunt and this morning we took a ride out to Birnam and then to Pitlochry dam. Birnam. A pretty village and really interesting dam, although the visitor centre wasn’t open which was a shame. Some, or rather a lot of photos, two entries today I think! The first few were in the Beatrix Potter garden, I didn’t actually go inside the exhibition.

Then a walk around the village, lots of interesting buildings.

One from the car as we drove to the dam.
Lots of up and down steps but a really interesting look round.

Tina took this one as I was not tall enough to see the spinning thing! Very technical that!
That is the grabber which removes all the logs etc.

Going to do another entry now so as not to overload this one.
